In a personal note, NBC News Special Correspondent Tom Brokaw revealed he has been diagnosed with cancer and said he and his physicians are very encouraged with the progress he is making.

Brokaw, who has worked at NBC News since 1966, was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a cancer affecting blood cells in the bone marrow, in August at the Mayo Clinic. His doctors are optimistic about the outcome of the treatment he is receiving, and Brokaw said he remains “the luckiest guy I know.”

Your post #40 was exactly correct. Still, I hope he recovers swiftly and that he is sorry for the propaganda he spouted over the years.

The Marxists do not care that our system created the best lifestyle in the world, a place where everyone could aspire to be great, and created a place of economic wonder and military might. The Left hates the fact that some are not as hardworking, lucky or both and despite the fact that a poor person in America, legal or not, has food, healthcare, an apartment, an education, a cell phone, utility reimbursement and straight up cash for doing nothing, that is no enough.

They must kill the system so they can live behind armed guards while we starve and beg for government care and food.

Brokaw helped this move forward, his cancer is immaterial to my point other than the fact he wants Communism as bad as most of the American media.

We are to pray for him.

But, I think a lot of the sentiment is that hoping he would be told by the ‘new health care’, youre too old, go home and take these pills.

But that wont happen, he is of the elite, so will receive what is best. The system has been broken, as planned.

It's treatable, not cureable. Chemo, stem cell transplants, and more chemo. Not knowing when it's going to reappear blows. It's an ugly cancer.

Yes... I saw that in my friend, Roger. I only knew him 3 years... met him in a church golf group. But, he was one of those rare people that, after you've spent an hour with him? You feel like you've been best friends all your life.

After I told him about my Mom, he started telling me all the treatments he'd been given. He was among the first "clinical trial" patients that got marrow transplants at some clinic in Arkansas, more than 15 years ago. They were pretty successful.

When it came back this last time, he happened to already be sick... too sick to do the transplants again. It was touch and go for awhile. Then, not.

I probably shouldn't be telling you that story.. sorry. But, he was such a tremendous person. He was always proud knowing that the crap he was going through, would eventually help someone else in the future... as treatments get better. Some day, it might well be me.

God be with you in your struggles.

BTW>>

I don’t know about all cases, but... I am 95% convinced my mother and cousin’s cancer were triggered by drinking water that was contaminated with PCB’s and/or Carbon Tet, or Per-chlor ethylene... wastes from a Vinyl Chloride plant.

They USED to be dumped into open pits near the town where I lived...”magic pits”... I have personal knowledge about this. At that time, the town drinking water came from relatively shallow wells. They later switched to surface water.

We had a CLUSTER of blood related cancers: Myeloma, leukemia, etc.... mostly among the young mothers in the area. It would be easier for me to tell you which of my neighborhood friend’s mother’s DIDN’T get some kind of cancer.

I know my analysis is not “scientific”.... but, I know enough to be convinced.

“Karma” (to use the term figuratively) isn’t always that direct.

We need to try to grasp the general ways in which God works (and the bible outlines them quite well in its stories) and not just let the “anger of man” drive us to the first thing we can think of in a spiritual stupor.

When we do try to grasp it, we see a more complex picture. We see God striving to actually BLESS a world that is in the midst of clamoring for the right to go to hell.

And sometimes that will bring God’s “longsuffering” attribute into play. Sometimes someone will be evil all his life and retribution won’t happen until the end. Or, someone may be destined to have a change of heart, but it’s going to be in the future, and so we see God being much more merciful to someone than he deserves and we wonder why. We don’t have the crystal ball, though.

If there’s one thing about many Freepers, it’s that longsuffering is not their strong suit. They long for that instant karma, they see anything less as unworthy of Ultimate Justice. They don’t yet (or don’t yet fully) realize, in many cases, that if that instant karma had come to them, they’d be goners. They don’t know what a friend that mercy is.
