New Signup Numbers Show Why Obamacare May Be Impossible To Repeal

For Republicans who want to repeal the Affordable Care Act, there is a major problem: many people may hate the law, but just as many like it.

“The thing that bothers me is people constantly forget that all politics is local, and that there’s great variation in the extent to which the law is accepted or is going to work. It’s state by state,” says Austin Frakt, an associate professor of public health at the Boston University School of Public Health and co-author of the popular Incidental Economist blog. “It’s not fair to say we’ll repeal the whole thing because there’s half the states that are cool with it.”

Nowadays, the government would have ordered 100, cut the order to 20, and spread the development costs over the ones which were actually built. At least then the government had enough sense to stop building things which were not useful.

But fast forward four decades, and armor was being designed to fit in transport aircraft.

Maybe it is just that Hughes was ahead of his time.

With a stroke of the pen this administration killed insurance on millions of Americans, so why do they use the excuse that it would be impossible to repeal Obamacare without killing insurance on millions.

The left never has logic, only emotions, on their side.

Of course this was their plan all along on the road to socialized medicine.

The numbers are made up. Problem is, very few of the sign ups have paid a premium, so there.

BS, it's a tax and can be repealed. The Dems talk like it's written in stone
over the top of the Constitution. Wrong. Repealing Zerocare is a start.

By the same logic, the vast majority of Americans love the IRS and paying taxes.

It’s not fair to say we’ll repeal the whole thing

It's entirely proper, and 'fair' doesn't come into it, you whiner.

It's unconstitutional, unworkable, unfundable and will eliminate innovation.

So the claim is everyone that signed up just loves it,... huh. Who are the people that signed up? Well the people that needed healthcare. People that are already not healthy and need care. They had their original policies cancelled and need regular medicine or doctor visits. So they had no choice but to sign up. Now they pay more for a higher deductable, even if they get a subsidy they must lay out the money up front and hope to see it in their tax returns. That doesn’t sound like a happy customer to me.The only people happy are the ones who qualify for Medicare who were paying on their own. Did we really need Obamacare to expand Medicare?

If you believe their numbers, and if everyone who “enrolled” actually has paid, and what percentage ended up in Medicaid?

Have you seen the college student ad from ObamaCare? The punk says:

“I already had insurance, but I wanted to see if I could get it cheaper so I signed up for ObamaCare. After looking at the options, etc., and with my low income, I got coverage for a lot less than what I had.”

Free-loading little bastige! He’s probably also on a Pell Grant or some such loan he’ll never pay back.

Make it completely voluntary. It will mostly die on its own.

Exactly. The promise should be, "If you like Obamacare, you can stay in Obazmacare. But you can't expect other people to pay for you." Convert the subsidies into an unrestricted, means tested premium support voucher for low income people who are free to choose among any plan on the market, and let Obamacare compete.

We actually have the freedom to go without it. We are insurance free and, thanks to our *taxable* income level, we make to little to be required to get it, but too much to grovel to uncle same for a handout to help us pay for it.

So as of January first, we have no health insurance.
