Napolitano: Impeachment Only Way to Stop Obama's Executive Actions

The only way to stop President Barack Obama from nullifying duly enacted laws is impeachment, says Judge Andrew Napolitano. The problem is, neither Congress nor the American public have the guts for it.

"The president is doing the opposite of what he was elected to do," Napolitano said Thursday on Fox News Channel's "Your World with Neil Cavuto." Napolitano is a former New Jersey Superior Court judge and a Fox News legal analyst.

When Obama picks and chooses which laws, or portions of them, to enforce, he actually is telling people how to avoid obeying the law, he told Cavuto.

Napolitano said there are 11 million people in the United States who could be deported to their native countries, but Obama has told them, "If you do A, B, C, D, and E, I won't deport you" — effectively telling them they can break the law and suffer no consequences.

Then he’s unstoppable. Because impeachment is a fantasy.

If everybody disobeyed his orders he would no longer matter.

If impeachment fails - as it probably would - the Constitution would be weakened to the point of collapse.

The Democrats would be in a corner. They would have to choose between defending a President who was obviously ignoring the Constitution, and defending the Constitution which (a) inconveniences them and their president, and (b) they’re not really that into anyway.

Which choice do you think they would make?

Then why keep bringing it up judge (since you say it won't happen ) ?

If Democrats were not so convinced that the GOP cannot win the WH again they would be worried about what a GOP POTUS could do with all these precedents.
But they have concluded that POTUS year voting turnout will always favor them and will keep the GOP out of the POTUS office.

Thank you, Captain Obvious. So, GOP? Who will be first to file the articles of impeachment?

I believe that the American people would support Impeachment. Just because the Quislings in Congress lack the Guts, Integrity and Honor to stand in defense of our Constitution per the Oath of Office they swore to means nothing at all.

The number of reasons for Obama to be Impeached and Removed from office is endless and that’s a fact.

Pretty much the same thing happened when they impeached Samuel Chase, the one and only Supreme Court Justice ever to be impeached.

He was not removed, and no other SC Justice was ever impeached again, leaving the Supreme Court unchecked ever since.

And the one reason he won't/can't be is insurmountable.

Rush put it best on Wednesday. We’re already beaten and apathetic. Suppose... by 2016 Obama decides... he likes being President. Who’s to say no and make it stick?

Ok Judge, so who’s gonna stop him?

The Senate are thugs just like him and the GOP majority in Congress are wimps....

This government has me very scared.

Impeachment begins in the House.

Some representative should open a charge of Impeachment just to begin formally, to list all the illegal, unconstitutional and unethical actions this President has performed.

Just to get the charges down for the record.

Because the nutless wonders in the GOPe need to be publicly shamed and shamed again. Maybe some will wake up.

You mean like when our Founders made the decision to cast British Rule from our shores?

Yeah, I suppose you’re right. Why bother?

It’s not enough to have a Republican majority in both houses of congress. These days the two parties are barely distinguishable. We need to replace the spineless wimps with real conservatives who will uphold and defend the Constitution. Surely, there has to be someone who will put country ahead of party.

As the left chants, you can’t impeach a black man, and get ready to chant, you can’t impeach a woman.

I really think our nation’s only path out of this mess, besides divine intervention,

is for the states to once again stand up and assert themselves.

An article 5 convention would get their attention, for sure.
