The fate of the Executive Assistant of the City of Ithaca Planning and Development department is unknown, following charges she stole money from a Trumansburg baseball organization.
Debbie Grunder, a 48-year-old Lansing resident, pleaded not guilty Monday to stealing $6,350 as treasurer of the Trumansburg Travel Baseball, a nonprofit summer league for players between 9 and 15. League Commissioner Jeff Ives said the organization’s budget is less than $5,000, according to the Ithaca Journal.
Trumansburg police have charged Grunder with grand larceny and falsifying business records while treasurer of the organization. According to Trumansburg Police Chief Thomas Ferretti, Grunder paid her utility bills, bought gasoline and rented a party tent with the league’s money.
Ferretti said Grunder had emptied the league’s bank account at Tompkins Trust Co., closed the account and opened another at CFCU Community Credit Union known only to her.
It is unknown whether Grunder remains employed by the City of Ithaca. Her name and email remain on the Planning and Development web page. Grunder and City of Ithaca Mayor Svante Myrick have yet to comment on the city employee’s status.

Good to see you BLL. I haven’t seen your posts for a while. I was up with my boys in November, about 25 miles south of Ithaca. My 3 boys each harvested a deer. I hope the lefties up in Cornell and Ithaca had a good ole PETA cry over it.
Some of the local good ole boys tell me that greenies at the university have been releasing mountain lions down by us. They claim reports of cougars are real and a planned thing by the tree huggers up by you. Any news on that front?

To be fair, that sounds like a glorified secretary. And if they really needed the bureaucrat she was a secretary to, it kind of made sense.

Sadly, for a long time, there didn't seem to be a point. Obama and Holder had brought Ithacism to a national scale. Whereas Ithaca was once the nation's far-left outlier, these days it often doesn't seem that different than any place else under the regime.

I know the town of Barton...and my Grand dad had once been a minister at the CMA church in Waverly. I lived in Candor before moving to Va.!
I noticed the welfare recipients upstate all have “ I heart Obamacare “ bumper stickers and this is nowhere near Ithaca. Not a good sign.
