More than 200 years after Alexander Hamiltons death, an online coupon company has given the Founding Father a historic promotion.
Deal website Groupon launched a Presidents Day tie-in of $10 off when customers purchase a $40 coupon for a local business.
The problem is, the promotion honors President Alexander Hamilton -- who was never president of the United States.
According to MyFoxNY.com, the promo calls Hamilton "undeniably one of our greatest presidents and most widely recognized for establishing the country's financial system."
Hamilton, the nation's first secretary of the Treasury, was killed by Vice President Aaron Burr in a pistol duel.

When asked to respond to the mix-up, Groupon spokesperson Erin Yeager told MyFoxNY.com, "We'll just have to agree to disagree."
Big DUH!
Benjamin Franklin was 10 times better as President. He is on the $100.00 bill. Hamilton is just on the $10.00 bill.
I spoke to a 25 year old who graduated in the top 5% of his class. (White, middleclass and bright.) He had never heard of President Kennedy or Jacky-O. He could name the presidents from Carter forward. He’d heard of Lincoln but couldn’t think of anything significant he’d done.
He lost the duel; he needed some practice time at the range, too.
We’re in more trouble, as a country, than most people know. I’ve run into young people who know zero about American History. But they can open and put a condom on a cucumber in 1.237 secs.
Common core?
This young man was not aware that he was a liberal. He classed himself as conservative. His only interest was being green and having a minimum carbon footprint. He used “sustainable” as a verb, noun and adjective.
He was not a good shot. But he was an excellent target.
It is very dangerous.
I know a “teacher” from a liberal private school who’s been “teaching” for 10 years. Middle school. She didn’t know what president lived at Mt. Vernon which is about an hour from here. The only reason she knows who lives at Monticello is because she studies the leaves and bugs in the mountains there.
This is what’s happening in this country. Kids get involved with the arts, mother nature and being sensitive to others and that’s it!
Based on personal experience I would not fault the young for being stupid. I would only fault them for not improving.
“Benjamin Franklin was 10 times better as President. He is on the $100.00 bill. Hamilton is just on the $10.00 bill.”
Dude. No way.
Prezzy Hamilton ended wimmin’s suffrage so he totally owns Presdent Franklin. Totes for real.
They’re taught to worship the earth god called Gaia, instead of the one, true God.
My Favorite President was Samuel Adams.
IMO good publicity ploy. Look how every one is talking about them.
