Senate Minority Whip John Cornyns bid for re-election got a boost this week from a GOP colleague and one of the top newspapers in his state.
Mr. Cornyn, Texas Republican, will try to defend his seat against seven opponents in the party primary on March 4. He is taking heat from conservatives for supporting a procedural motion last week that cleared the way for an up-down vote to extend the nations borrowing authority, even though he voted against the actual measure.
But Sen. Roger Wicker, Mississippi Republican, told MSNBCs Morning Joe that voters will still come out in droves for Mr. Cornyn for a variety of reasons, even if tea party types are upset with him.
Mr. Cornyns most vocal challenger is Rep. Steve Stockman, an outspoken conservative who has accused Mr. Cornyn of being a liar for how he portrayed his debt limit votes.

Fixed it!
A moron who has never been and never will be conservative, circling the wagons on the Morning Shmoe. I hope he’s ready to say goodbye to his buddy Thad Cochran.
If MS-NBC was a real news service, and am not saying it is,
at least one reporter would have asked Cornyn where the
money went which he stole AFTER attacking Ms. O'Donnell.
NRSC Raised Money Using Christine O'Donnell's Name the Day Before Delaware Primary
Hey roger... you are fired in 2018 jerk!
We in Mississippi have thad ENOUGH!
More and more liberal Republicans in the senate and house are resembling a “mischief” of rats on an ever shrinking island in a flooding river. As the waters rise, one at a time, another one is swept away to his demise, despite the best efforts of the others to hold onto him.
Well!! We’ll know March 4th!!!
If this dude prefers to go on MSNBC..........enough said!
Lets not forget his 3 state pensions, for 3, 6, 7 year jobs along with his congressional salary that does not include the perks, committee pay, or travel, or Platinum healthcare cost we tax SERFS pay for. http://trailblazersblog.dallasnews.com/2013/06/sen-john-cornyn-discloses-3-texas-pensions-as-supplemental-income.html/
ditto for Tennessee, with liberal rino lamar alexander 73, he has a conservative state Rep Joe Carr running against him, so he has a voting record you can match against lamar’s which is to many times along dem lines.
Glad to hear it. The Magnolia state deserves a fighter like Chris McDaniel
You paint a pretty picture, LOL! Let’s hope there’s soon a “rogue wave” that sweeps them all away!
I agree... war on the left of both parties!
Amen!
Wicker is a distant cousin of one Fred Thompson, “R”-TN, whom some here once thought was “presidential”, but he never had the fire in the belly.
Has Trent Lott predicted Cornball and Cochran victories too?
I like your style.
Some think that McDaniel, because of likely low turnout, has the best chance of all the conservative insurgents running this year.
