It’s the same case in Belgium. Half the nation is economically surging ahead....the other half is mostly agriculture and draining resources/tax revenue from the other half. Everyone in Belgium knows this, and half the country wants a division. So far....it hasn’t happen. I could go through seven states and show the same issue...California is a good source to chat on this topic with.

I hope this guy is wrong. Ukraine needs to keep uniting and modernizing not break apart

We added " [Rutger's Alexander Motyl]" to the title then spent some time adding the rest of the interview from Radio Free Europe because for some reason, you had taken out everything in the interview which followed this:

"...But the fact of the matter is that the Donbas is an economic black hole; it is a drain on Ukraine's resources, it happens to be home to the most retrograde part of the population, not because they are Russians or Russian speakers, but because they are the equivalent of American southerners who supported racism and Jim Crow [laws]...".
