In Los Angeles Superior Court on Thursday, Louie Sanchez, 31, pleaded guilty to mayhem and was sentenced to eight years in state prison; Marvin Norwood, 33, was sentenced to four years for assault.

Family dealt a life sentence in this heart breaking case and said on the local radio that Bryan has backtracked due to his insurance issuers denying intensive care for him.

Unbelievable that this was not a case of attempted murder and that the assailants got 8 and 4 years which means they'll be out in (what?) 2-3? This is California after all where hardened criminals are being released back onto the streets b/c of prison overcrowding.

May Bryan and his family find peace somewhere after this horrible crime against him.

Agree with judge saying these guys are the nightmare we all fear when attending sports events. Not sure if these guys are gang members but would not be surprised.

It’s a damn shame that we all have to fear the feral people such as these. But they are out there, attending public events.

Police increase their presence markedly in San Diego at Chargers games vs. The Raiders. For some reason, the youth gangs have adopted the RAIDERS AS their team, and cause lots of trouble at their games.

The head thug got eight years for “mayhem”? What about attempted murder?

Yet the victim’s family approved of this light sentence.

I believe we should have a torture penalty in which 3X the offense is performed on the perp. Family and friends should be allowed the option of being that torturer, but could also choose to not allow any torture to take place.

The 3X punishment is Biblical.

I guarantee you that this would curb senseless aggression, just as CCW curbs crime everywhere it's instituted.

Did their mommas show up in court, saying that these boys were turning their lives around?

There are Federal charges to come.

Could get each of them ten years.

Louie Sanchez, 31,

Let me guess media..white Hispanic??
This Bryan Stow’s life will never be the same again..these two thugs beat him within an inch of his life, give them both life in prison, but since this is California, they probably won’t even serve half their sentence

Slightly off topic, but whatever happened to “pled”?

"Pleaded" is not uncommon, particularly in a legal context.

These guys will be delivering prison justice to all those other inmates sentenced for heinous crimes.

Don't worry; at least one of your fellow English-speakers says "pled."

They were smirking away in court...which didn't sit too well with the judge.

The family referred to them as "cretins." What I think of them cannot be expressed here or the mods would ban me!!

I haven't set foot in Dodger Stadium since that time.

I listened to a lot local radio in the LA Area and heard fan after fan after fan report that they'd NEVER go to Dodger Stadium again because the thugs have taken over the place -- throwing beer and soda at people, yelling loud curses all over the place, rude, uncivil behavior.

Sort of like the high school I teach in!!

The Dodgers DID get rid of $2 night which brought out the animals.

Still, it will take a LOT for me to ever go back there -- and I've been going there since I was a small child.

There was no security in parking lot No. 2 and it took security 15 to 20 minutes to get there

Eight years is too little. This is worse than murder.

He will be out of prison in 3 or 4 years.
