What gets me is “could of,” etc., when people think they’re expanding the contraction “could’ve.”

“Periods inside of quotes is almost always correct.”

American English usually puts the punctuation inside the quotes, British English usually puts them outside. Really confused me when I first lived in England years ago.

I am ashamed to say that when I was young and could not remember, I put the period directly beneath the ending quotation mark in handwritten papers. I don’t think it fooled my teacher one bit.

And

https://books.google.com/ngrams/graph?content=pleaded%2Cpled&year_start=1900&year_end=2000&corpus=0&smoothing=3&direct_url=t1%3B%2Cpleaded%3B%2Cc0%3B.t1%3B%2Cpled%3B%2Cc0

But an incorrect word eventually becomes respectable after enough ignorant people use it.

Makes me wonder what's the use of studying correct English.

Simply substitute “incorrect English” for “Treason” in the following: “Treason doth never prosper: what's the reason? Why if it prosper, none dare call it treason.”

To be fair the bay area is a a pretty wide chunk of real estate but yes by and large many areas in the bay area Cities... are getting out of hand.

the pendulum will swing back at some point, thats a given. What we dont know is how far this societal pendulum has to go to complete its less desirable part of the cycle.

Why are you such a jerk? Foot taps in stalls. You should be ashamed of yourself, if you have any shame.
