Any signs of people in blue states starting to turn away from Democrats?

Posted on 02/24/2014 7:36:48 PM PST by cradle of freedom

Has anyone seen any signs that people in blue states may be turning away from the big government ideology that has controlled these states for so many decades? Any discussions with relatives, neighbors or friends who are Democrats?

My state has gone from democrat controlled to republican controlled with increasing gun rights, stricter control of abortion, right to work etc, I’d have to say that people here are changing direction.

I’m from Massachusetts too. Don’t you find Massachusetts voters to be mysterious? By that I mean that average voters here (not liberal intellectuals) tend to talk about small talk, not anything of substance and little about politics. But they have been molded into the Democrat view for generations...Democrats are for the little guy, Republicans for the rich.

This suggests a good national theme for the GOP: “Bigger federal government control is not the answer. Just ask the former Soviet Union, Communist China, North Korea, Cuba, and Venezuela. Don’t vote Democrat.”

And yet their easy/quick cave on any debt limit is indicative that they're quite fine with bigger and more controlling government.

I believe my aunt has soured on Obama. Started when she found out Obamacare wasn't going to be so wonderful after all.

It's probably a generational thing. Aunt was born during the Great Depression — the younger contingent of the Greatest Generation. In my neck of the woods, folks like her were blue collar, most were union members and of course, they routinely voted Democrat. But these people are also churchgoers, believers in the Constitution and finding their golden years aren't so secure. As people of that generation have watched this country slide into moral, military and economic decay, they are having some serious anxiety about their voting choices. They don't necessarily like Republicans, but their consciences may compel them to abandon the Democrats on election day.

Yeah, there are still plenty of idiots but we’re getting a handle on voter fraud too.

My conscience compelled my to leave the Democrats in the 1970’s when they adopted abortion as their battle flag.

Seek first the Kingdom of God and all else will be giving to you.

Just look at the polls, Republicans up, Independents waaaay up, Dims down. Isn’t that clear enough? Individual states, look at the resignations of incumbent Dims who are Reps and Sinators.

Proof will come on election day in November. Pollsters and RAT “reporters” will lie until then, and cry foul after.

They are so stupid , these MA voters, they think Dem is part of their DNA, the Irish are particularly blind.. but they all work for the Gov’t mostly in one capacity or another!
I love my family… but they are Ignorant.

No turning here in CA, but you can see defeat and discouragement in their faces.

The average, white, middle class "independent" (liberal here) is not likely to vote in this mid-term.

I heard a caller on the radio who said that his family talked about him when he wasn’t around. They thought he was a black sheep because he wasn’t a Democrat.

My brother once chewed me out via long distance phone call to warn me not to vote for Republicans since they caused the Depression.

What is that line from Conan the Barbarian something about the joy of defeating the enemy and hearing the lamentation of their women. :^D
