She may not look anywhere near her 76 years but Jane Fonda says she is well aware of her age.
The Hollywood legend – who has made her career in an industry which isn't exactly kind to aging actresses - admits she has been brought to tears on more than one occasion recently as she comes to terms with her own mortality.
In a thoughtful blog post entitled 'Crying', which has since been removed, Jane wrote: '[I've been thinking], how come my tears are so close to the surface? And I’ve come to feel it has to do with age. I have become so wonderfully, terribly aware of time, of how little of it I have left; how much of it is behind me, and everything becomes so precious (sic).'
Despite Jane worrying about her mortality, she believes getting older has its advantages, namely allowing her to appreciate the beauty in the world.
She said: 'With age, I am able to appreciate the beauty in small things more than when I was younger perhaps because I pay attention more.
'I feel myself becoming part of everything. I seem to be super sensitive to people's joy and pain. I ache for unwanted children in the world, for polars bears, and elephants, and Monarch butterflies, and dolphins, gorillas and chimpanzees (sic).'
Most recently Jane found herself becoming emotional at her friend Kerry Washington’s baby shower on Sunday.
She wrote: 'Today I was at Kerry Washington’s baby shower. She's 7 months pregnant and looking radiant.
'It was a wonderful party with guests being asked to go into a photo booth and take 6 different poses that were then mounted on a black paper where we could write a message....

They're both despicable traitors, but I find Kerry (BTW, did you know he served in Vietnam?)even more reprehensible. Any former service member who would provide aid and comfort to the enemy deserves a special place in hell. Then there are the fake Purple Hearts - the hits just keep coming with Lurch....

Her skin is probably very thin which allows easy bruising. My mom’s was that way a few years before she died 3 months short of being 103. Her legs looked worse. Just my $.02.

Ah to be born rich and famous, grow up beautiful and super sexy, and all of this in the USA at it’s cultural and economic peaks. I still can’t watch Babarella without a box of tissue. It’s no wonder this being is not wanting to go. Reflection for her has to be difficult as she tries to work out what her life was all about.
Jane Fonda has pulled some highly leftist, in your face, stunts that created a lot of damage to our country and even our military POW’s. But I fret when I read FR posts further down the that sound like short and nasty DU posts.
Any ridicule she gets is well deserved, but IMHO the mindless, pointless nastiness of the left is not something we want to ape.
Maybe I am getting old too.

I hope she lives for at LEAST another 101 years...narcissists like her NEED to come to terms with the empty lives they have led and the lives they have impacted through their arrogance and self-centeredness.
Perhaps she can ruminate on the innocent lives lost through abortions that she has undoubtably supported-—I love dolphins, but I don’t think they kill their own.

I don’t know if anyone else noticed, but aren’t dolphins exclusively carnivorous? Those aren’t apples I see them eating at Dolphin shows. Giving the human brain to a Dolphin would be a complete waste. Without thumbs, they would have never invented the internet.
Hell, I’m the same age and i figure I have at least 20 years left.
