The mainstream press has justified its lack of coverage over the Internal Revenue Service targeting of conservative groups because there's been no "smoking gun" tying President Obama to the scandal. This betrays a remarkable, if not willful, failure to understand abuse of power. The political pressure on the IRS to delay or deny tax-exempt status for conservative groups has been obvious to anyone who cares to open his eyes. It did not come from a direct order from the White House, but it didn't have to.

There is no "smoking gun" because the MSM doesn't want to look for one.
These things don't just pop up out of thin air. The smoking gun is always being hidden. It used to be that a reporter investigated these things, and through diligent pursuit of the story they find the smoking gun.
But not today. Today's MSM buries the smoking gun. They don't expose it.

I really am inclined to go with the thesis that Obama is a figurehead. The same boss or bosses that are telling him what to do, are behind these IRS shenanigans. That’s why Slow Joe was acceptable to the Democrats as a veep. Should Obama bid this mortal coil farewell prematurely, or get impeached and convicted, Slow Joe would do just as well as Barack Obama to be said figurehead.

I agree that 0bama is a figurehead. But he is, at the same time, a true believer in “the struggle.” In other words, he is all for the downfall of America and the implementation of a Soviet-style state. I also think he sincerely believes that he is the mastermind of all of this. In reality, though, he is a childish dilettante dictator, who is being fed the lines he is to say. His huge ego and paper-thin skin are easily manipulated by his real masters. For that, I’m thinking Ayers, Axelrod and Jarrett, primarily.
