Well, a germ is a germ is a germ. Soil cultures, which would have been more psychologically appealing, ultimately get their food from ickier stuff. It isn’t all sunshine and grass. I’d be pretty sure they took pains to be sure their cultures were as pure as practical; they didn’t just take a wad of crap and throw it in the sausage mix.

I’ve taken my Chill Pills, so I’m ready to see this concept a bit more objectively, a bit more. I suppose creating and replicating then cultivating protein cultures are not new stories. Consider that some folks Not Me, have been using milk to make cheese for thousands of years. Nowadays, some even use human breast milk to make cheese or ice cream, again, Not Me., I respect the resourcefulness of the scientists, but still know such food would be my very last choice.
