In another example of local city officials grossly abusing government funds, the Centinela School District Superintendent was berated by justifiably angry citizens over his enormous salary.

The small California community has been shocked to discover that in addition to the $663,000 compensation package granted to Jose Fernandez, he also received a monumental loan from the school district of $900,000 at 2 percent interest over 40 years, even though he had already declared bankruptcy twice!

These people should be outraged at themselves. They allowed this to happen. That salary could not have been given without taxpayer approval.

Yep, with these credentials, he really has the priviledge and right to be teaching children. Each KIND reproduces it’s Genus Species is what it says in Genesis.

My guess is that he and the other board members who approved this ‘package’ colluded secretly to NOT advertise exactly what the compensation package was.

It was likely loosely referenced as some employment agreement in a board meeting, quickly voted upon and passed with no announcement of the details. Had anyone been suspicious and asked for the details they would have been sent on a FOIA paper chase.

In my opinion, all of that whole board are criminals and should be imprisoned. If they can’t be convicted on the salary, giving a sweetheart loan of over $900K at 2% over 40 years is likely illegal because it commits resources outside their respective terms and was not a publically advertised debt commitment put to the voters.

I think if the state, county, and local city would just publish once a year.....these are our employee positions, and how much each makes and what their pension deal would be....the public would fire all of their representatives. Nobody would stand there and allow the dimwits to hire some sheriff for $190,000 a year. Nor would they allow the chief county nurse to get a pension deal of $140,000 a year. Nor would the chief of the local fire department get a wage of $270,000 a year.

They voted for this. They asked for this.
And, I’ll bet every single one of them are Obama supporters.

These people need to have to pay back what they have stolen from the taxpayers.

Apparently, the School District laid off 46 teachers while this criminal was collecting all that booty. Hopefully this is a wake up call to the community. The Super’s English is heavily accented too....wonder if he’s even legal?

Usually, this is considered a personnel matter and dealt with behind closed doors. The news is usually buried in the minutes of the meeting which no one bothers to or can’t read.

Obviously George Bush’s fault along with that vast Right Wing Conspiracy of the anti-woman, anti-minority GOP! Any clearer proof needed of the need to get California under the firm control of the ever-benevolent Democrat plantation, where none of these type of shenanigans can happen without proper approval (and tithing!) It will be a golden day when the animals can rule themselves and we can have the Animal Farm utopia that has been promised for decades!

Oink, oink! /no sarcasm was injured in the production of this screed!

Actually another “public servant” take advantage of the rules that the stupid voters helped put into place. No sympathy for the voters at all. Good for this guy to have such a deal. He should not shed on bit of guilt from his body.

In New York you can see the salaries of every municipal employee. It wouldn’t stop the abuses like in California but it would be there for all to see. ( http://seethroughny.net/)

This story is rampant all over the country.
In our rural county with 3 high schools, nine schools in all, the supe makes close to $175K and had the board buy $1.3 mill of iPads for every student.
We should have the smartest kids ever in our county with that kind of “investment” but most can barely crack 1000 in the SATs, if they even take them.
This is what comes from tax payer apathy and letting the unions run amok...

Quite often the citizenry is too occupied with their day jobs and families to attend regular BOE/Town meetings, which allows this shameless corruption by local political “lifers.”

Democrats (and unions) have for decades been costing taxpayers ridiculous amounts of money to run the US education system, and we lag behind the rest of the industrialized world in every educational metric ... maybe people are finally getting fed up with “public servants” feathering their own nests at the expense of all the rest of us ...
