Woman can't get through to 911 during home invasion (GA)

An Ellenwood homeowner called 911 three times during a home invasion and said she could not get an operator on the phone. Danielle Bryan was at home alone on Tuesday night around 8 p.m. She said a Jeep drove around her house and a man was looking through her window.

Bryan called 911. . . .

The logs also show Bryan waited nine seconds, 11 seconds, and one minute and 21 seconds before hanging up. Bryan never got through to a dispatcher. . . .

She ran and hid in her bedroom closet. Her alarm company called her and then immediately got 911 on the line, bringing officers to her home.

Well, the first two times - 9 and 11 seconds - is pretty silly to just hang up.

Guess someone was tying up the 911 line with complaints that McDonald’s didn’t serve them enough fries with their burger.

Hope she’s learned that the real emergency number is .357

“Officers said they found shell casings from a gun outside her home.”

If there weren’t shots fired, they are probably unrelated.

Another pro-2nd amendment piece, I would say.

We can’t always count on govt., can we.

My 911 is a three button sequence on the GunVault next to my bed. It contains a Springfield 1911 loaded with 45 ACP Dynamic Research Technologies gut busting cartridges.

Also have a Ruger SR 1911 in a GunVault Speedvault right here bolted to my computer desk on my left, loaded similarly, and a ShotLock Shotgun Solo-Vault with a WWI Trench Shotgun Replica, 12 Gauge, IAC- Norinco on my right side.

The phone is for the police and coroner afterwards.

I was at CosCo once a few years ago — hot as could be out, in the 100s. DH and I were crossing the blazing parking lot when we heard a baby crying — INSIDE a LOCKED and closed up car.

Immediately got out my cell phone and called 911 — repeatedly!! Never got through.. I told DH to go and get one of his tools from the truck because we were going to break the window open — as I kept trying to get through to 911 (I never did). By that time I was screaming for someone to call— the baby was in distress. DH came running back with a massive wrench at the same time a frantic mother ran over, jumped in and drove off — with me screaming at her. I didn’t even get the license number I was SO upset. Later the manager ran out but I hadn’t even gotten the make of the car let alone the plate numbers.

Later, when we were shopping, the cops showed up and immediately wanted to talk to me but I couldn’t tell them much — only that I had repeatedly tried to call 911 and NEVER GOT THROUGH.

We changed phone companies immediately — to one that connects instantly to 911 - there’s even a button for that right on the phone.

Interesting. So you're saying that the fault here was with your phone company, and not with the 911 call center?

And if you don't mind me asking, who was your old phone company, and who did you change to?

When seconds count, the police are minutes away.

She only needs a 12 GA. No aiming required. Just point in the general direction. Pull trigger. Then the cops will be there real soon, yes even in Ellenwood! ! ! ! ! ! 1

Took me a whole minute to get a dispatcher when my sister had a seizure once.

This was the time when the city council was voting to give the exiting city manager a half-million gift of tax dollars

1911 is much more reliable than 911, and 1911 responds much more quickly.

The telephone network prioritizes calls. Land lines get the highest priority, followed by cell phones. Once during Hurricane Katrina, I couldn’t get through to my family in Baton Rouge, calling from PA on my cell. I had no land line, but walked to my neighbor to borrow his land line, and got through to my mother.

All it takes to jam a 911 center is a MVA on a nearby highway or interstate inside that 911 centers coverage area. Everyone who has a cellphone seeing it will call 911. When you need 911 and they don’t answer do not hang up. Most agencies have a mandatory response policy to a land line phone and will lock a cell phone as well.
