Two years and a day after their son’s death, the parents of Trayvon Martin visited the White House on Thursday and were in the audience as President Obama announced a new initiative designed to keep young minority men on the right path.
The president mentioned Trayvon’s parents, Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin, during his speech, drawing applause from a crowd gathered in the East Room of the White House.
The man who shot and killed Trayvon, George Zimmerman, was found not guilty of murder in a Florida trial last year. The prosecution contended that Mr. Zimmerman singled out Trayvon because of the color of his skin and followed him, resulting in the altercation that claimed the 17-year-old’s life.
A jury found that Mr. Zimmerman acted in self defense — a verdict that spawned protests across the nation.
“In the aftermath of the Trayvon Martin verdict, with all the emotions and controversy it sparked, I spoke about the need to bolster and reinforce our young men and give them the sense their country cares about them and values them and is willing to invest in them,” Mr. Obama said....

When thugs like "Skittles" force them to kill while defending their lives, I worry that they might become so traumatized,they might embark on a path of self destruction. Things like drinking and speeding around the country, or beating on their girlfriends, or God knows what.
We have to do more to help them cope.
How else can they get 140% of black voters to cast a ballot?
