As reports are coming in that Russia has placed 2,000 troops in Crimea, within the borders of Ukraine, President Obama said that “the United States will stand with the international community in affirming that there will be costs for any military intervention in Ukraine.”
Charles Krauthammer responded on Special Report tonight saying, “The Ukrainians, and I think everybody, is shocked by the weakness of Obama’s statement. I find it rather staggering.”
Krauthammer thinks Obama’s statement is about “three levels removed” from actual action. He explained: Obama said “we will stand with the international community — meaning we are going to negotiate with a dozen other countries who will water down the statement — in affirming that there will be costs — meaning in making a statement not even imposing a cost, but in making a statement about imposing a cost — for any military intervention.”
“What he’s saying is we’re not really going to do anything and we’re telling the world,” Krauthammer said.

He doesnt do anything about the invasion of our borders, why should he do anything about the invasion of another country’s borders?
Obama and Kerry also need to shut up about it. It’s none of our business. Whatever debts the US owed Europe were paid in full with the end of the Cold War. We’ve got no obligation to destroy our nation by stepping in the bottomless pit of world policeman and self-appointed champion of “democracy”.
I agree here. Europe has been demilitarized for 30 years relying upon the US so they can expand their social empires. Last week it was reported the Swiss Airforce works 8 to 5 only and then only during the week. So, they were unavailable to intercept an incoming hijacked plane relying upon two other nations to do it for them! The only surprise is it was not the USAF doing it.
Anyone who bought red pen stock will see a great increase in its value after all tha red lines mac daddy has drawn, it’s just sad that their is not stock being offered in mac daddy BS which would have soared since 2008.
Shocked? Not really. My husband was watching the coverage on a tv at the local diner. I told him then that we aren’t going to do anything. It would interfere with tee time. No, not shocked at all.

How many times must we win the war and lose the peace?
The collapse of the Soviet empire, the liberation of Eastern Europe, and the dismantling of the USSR were geopolitical victories of the highest order. Obama should have been working to consolidate and extend these developments.
Doing this in the right way would have been not at all "anti-Russian;" it would have meant a good faith effort to move all the victims of communism, including the Russians, into a full embrace of open societies, free markets, and democracy.
Of course, that would have required time, attention, hard work, strategic vision, and a commitment to open societies, free markets, and democracy. None of which seem to be in this president's repertoire.
This is what happens when the umbrella of freedom that the US once held up has been folded up and stowed away. Expect to see a lot more of this as Obama’s America focuses on giving the democrats a permanent majority with free phones, free pot, free TVs, free college, and free citizenship to anyone promising to vote for the democrats.
Expect to pay more for gas, oil and just about anything effected by the military, economic and electronic warfare that is being prepared by the likes of Putin and China.
There is a void in the world that was created by the election of this man and those that felt it was necessary to stay home on election day are equally as complicit in it’s creation IMO.
What did anyone expect. It was no a Muzzie nation being invaded so he could run to the rescue of one of his muzzie brotherhood pals and save them, or ship $800 billion to them that we don’t have. Amazing these countries take this money and spend it and it ain’t real money. It is Obama Monopoly Dollars. Nope, the lame leg in Sodom on the Potomac who lives in the White Mosque on Pennsylvanian Avenue ain’t gonna do a thing.
