It’s the War, You Dolt
PJMedia.com ^ | 3/2/2014 | Michael Ledeen

Posted on 03/03/2014 6:43:03 AM PST by rktman

No surprise that the intel guys, like their political bosses, reassured themselves that Russia wouldn’t invade. Even though they made the same mistake just a few years ago when the morsel was Georgia. Indeed, that kind of error, revolving around the phrase “rational actor,” is the trademark of Western confusion about the world. They refuse to see that our enemies are waging war against us, thus refuse to think about winning that war, thus lose many battles, and happily retreat. After all, if our enemies are rational actors, what could go wrong? We could even slash and burn our own military. Not to worry.

It’s not as if we’re at war, after all.

Hmmmm. Let's see. Suppose they gave a war and we didn't know it. Yeah chuck and "lyin' king", cutting to pre WWII levels is a real great idear. Dolt is appropriate.

So if Mexico sent troops into Texas to “maintain a relationship and ensure continuity” what would we do?

As I see it, the problem with today's Americans and 'war' is ... Americans don't know what war is.

War is not a clever political ruse, backed by a police force or action, that succeeds or not.

It is not years of intel culminating in a capture.

It is not meetings of heads, subheads, deadheads and airheads formulating treaties and accords.

It's armed men killing other armed men until one side says 'uncle'

period.

The dems would rush out with voter registration forms to sign them up.

Let's ask Britain to join the crusade. I'm sure they'll be eager to go, since they had such a delightful time during the last go-around.

(Copied from another thread.)

Are you aware that Crimea was part of Russia for over 200 years, until Nikita Khrushchev literally gifted it to Ukraine in 1954 in order to gain the support of their party bosses during his accession after the death of Stalin?

Before Russia, it belonged to the Ottoman Empire, now defunct. Before that, it belonged to the city-state of Venice, going back to before Columbus discovered America. But it was NEVER part of Ukraine, until Khrushchev’s “gift.”

Imagine if President Eisenhower, as a dictator on his own, gave Long Island and NYC to Connecticut as part of a in internal United States political deal to secure CT’s support.

In 1954, the political gift was an internal USSR matter, not an international matter. In 1991, the USSR broke apart, and Khrushchev’s gift suddenly mattered. But despite the gift and the fluke that led Crimea to become part of the modern sovereign nation of Ukraine, Crimea has always been 90% ethnic Russian, and it contains Russia’s most vital naval bases and sea ports.

In fact, Crimea is far more Russian than Hawaii is American. It’s foolish and naïve to believe that the Russian’s will risk losing the Crimea during a period of chaos in Ukraine.

It’s not as if we’re at war, after all.

Actually we're not at war at all unless we're talking about the moral war against public and private ungodliness in our own land. This seeking of perpetual war is very damaging the security of our nation.

Afghanistan is not a war, but a quagmire not worth the blood of one American soldier.

With the current "leadership"? Apologize.

I guess we would have to take care of it at a local level.
I mean we are already being invaded by the latinoids and
the jug-eared purple lipped jackass is doing more to
support the vandaleros than the citizens of Texas.
The answer would be Mr.JEPLJ (jug-eared purple lipped jackass) would tell the citizens of Texas to stand down.
So the answer, proven by recent history, would be to
draw a line and get pimp slapped down like a two bit
JEPLJ whore, again.

Of course, Sarah Palin was FIRST proven right about her Russia-invading-Ukraine prediction she made — and got mocked for — in 2008,
but there's also this exchange....

Liberals see war as the ultimate failure of diplomacy which is what they assume to be the pinnacle of their power, ergo, it cannot happen..........

When we finally leave, karzai will bail with millions and the is-lamish mullahs will go back to what they do best. Keeping a well worn sandal on the necks of everybody. And, of course, keep the poppy fields crankin’. It’s a lose/lose situation. Sucks to see our troops getting killed and maimed for no apparent goal. Actually, no goal.

The Charge of the Light Brigade
Alfred, Lord Tennyson

1.

Half a league, half a league,
Half a league onward,
All in the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.
“Forward, the Light Brigade!
“Charge for the guns!” he said:
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.

2.

“Forward, the Light Brigade!”
Was there a man dismay’d?
Not tho’ the soldier knew
Someone had blunder’d:
Theirs not to make reply,
Theirs not to reason why,
Theirs but to do and die:
Into the valley of Death
Rode the six hundred.

3.

Cannon to right of them,
Cannon to left of them,
Cannon in front of them
Volley’d and thunder’d;
Storm’d at with shot and shell,
Boldly they rode and well,
Into the jaws of Death,
Into the mouth of Hell
Rode the six hundred.

4.

Flash’d all their sabres bare,
Flash’d as they turn’d in air,
Sabring the gunners there,
Charging an army, while
All the world wonder’d:
Plunged in the battery-smoke
Right thro’ the line they broke;
Cossack and Russian
Reel’d from the sabre stroke
Shatter’d and sunder’d.
Then they rode back, but not
Not the six hundred.

5.

Cannon to right of them,
Cannon to left of them,
Cannon behind them
Volley’d and thunder’d;
Storm’d at with shot and shell,
While horse and hero fell,
They that had fought so well
Came thro’ the jaws of Death
Back from the mouth of Hell,
All that was left of them,
Left of six hundred.

6.

When can their glory fade?
O the wild charge they made!
All the world wondered.
Honor the charge they made,
Honor the Light Brigade,
Noble six hundred.

Copied from Poems of Alfred Tennyson,
J. E. Tilton and Company, Boston, 1870

Michael’s solution is for the admirals and generals to resign. Too late. They should have done that when Bill Clinton was convicted of perjury and he refused to resign. Our President lied under oath and got away with it. We took another step towards a dictatorship and the admirals and generals stood there watching and saying nothing.

I have stood at Balaclava at the spot where the Russian guns stood. Good ground for cavalry. Brave men lost because Lord Cardigan was an idiot

Mexico has already sent armed troops into our country and our border patrol was ordered to "stand down".
