President Putin has ordered troops sent last week to a surprise military exercise in western and central Russia to return to their bases.

Putin ordered the return after a Defense Ministry report, which said the exercises have been conducted successfully, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told the media.

The surprise military drills in Russia’s central and western territorial commands were launched last Wednesday.

They involved 150,000 troops, 90 aircraft, 880 armor, 80 warships and other hardware.

On Monday the last phase of the drill was witnessed by Putin, who visited the Kirillovsk military range in Leningrad region in north-western Russia.

During the phase the 138th Mechanized Brigade of the Sixth Army of the Western Military District and the 104th Guards Airborne Regiment of the 76th Guards Airborne Division engaged in tactical war games. They demonstrated in the field their capabilities to maneuver and cripple enemy logistics, communication and control before a direct offensive.

Putin is playing it perfectly.

Europe will tremble and then want to buy his favor, while DC will idiotically claim a “win” and never see Putin’s next move coming.

Putin presented enough show of force to cow NATO and to produce a plotcha of fecal matyerial down Obama’s leg. A diaper will now be in order as the ONE claims victory!

Next time it will be Poland.

The US Media will cheer breathlessly Obama’s “BRILLIANCE!”, and bravery for standing up to the antigay bigot Putin.

Meanwhile, 16,000 Russian troops previously stationed in the Crimea are still there, and still in control.

But, at least it will be “old news” to the US Media, and that is really all that matters, isn’t it?

Yup. We’ve seen this play before. Different actors, same stage, same plot.

It indicates he has no intention of starting a war.

If he wants other parts of Ukraine, he can get them through subterfuge and subversion. And he can buy what he wants.

A war is pointless for Russia at this point since the necessary element of surprise has all but evaporated. People underestimate Putin.

He knows his limits contrary to what the chattering classes have presumed. There is the old adage you should never bite off more than you can chew.

Keeping Ukraine on edge has served its purpose.

They involved 150,000 troops, 90 aircraft, 880 armor, 80 warships and other hardware.

Let's break this down.

They involved 150,000 troops

I wonder what percentage of those troops their commanders had to sober up before they deployed. I wonder what percentage of the commanders had to sober up first. Did they actually deploy or did Russia Today simply claim they deployed. Were they seen by U.S. satellites massing on tarmacs or in formations ready to board troop transports? Were they issued vodka? I say they never left the barracks. Until someone confirms that they actually mounted up and traveled, that's my story and I'm stickin' to it!

90 aircraft

They have enough sober, air worthy pilots for that many aircraft that can fly on a moments notice? Their best fighter pilots are in the air 10% of the hours that our pilots fly. With that little time in the cockpit all they'll be if they fly against our guys are manned target drones. Air show flyin' ain't air combat.

880 armor

We all know what happens to a Chevy that sits in a garage for multiplied years. Armor is no different. Theirs has been in storage since the 90's in who-knows-what state of maintenance. To say nothing about the sobriety of the maintainers.

80 warships and other hardware.

I want a ship list. I want infrared imagery showing 80 ships heated up and traveling. I want confirmation of 80 combat vessels in the area of operations on active exercises. Who sails a vessel from harbor for 7 to 14 days only to return it dockside. Putin doesn't have the money to build more than 2 or 3 submarines a decade, and he has the money for this? I highly doubt it.

In the absence of independent confirmation, is say these numbers are propaganda. Again, that's my story and I'm stickin' to it!

“And he can buy what he wants.”

There’s a lot more going on than people are aware of.

Wealthy Jewish businessmen from Israel, Europe and Russia have been negotiating and working together since 2010 to build natural gas pipelines and develop natural gas fields to deliver energy to Europe. It’s an impressive balancing act that aids everyone. I hope nothing topples this apple cart.

Getting the Leviathan gas field online made Israel energy independent with plenty left over to export to Europe. It’s a great story about private capital getting the job done without government interference.

“DC will idiotically claim a “win” and never see Putin’s next move coming.”

Kinda tough to find out what’s happening in Mother Russia when our intel resources are focused on tea party members, and people like us.

The only asset NSA/CIA has in Russia is Snowden.

Excellent summary.

He doesn’t want te Ukraine with its debts and Soros/Obozo puppets in charge.

He will let the Euro Soros Thugs, “Greece”, mug and pillage the Ukrainians for a few years. Then, the survivors will beg to come back into Mother Russia’s flock.

Putin’s money? I expect you’re about correct on how much Rusky stuff actually works. Remember a few years back when Putin saved up enough oil money to gas up a few Bear Bombers and make a couple sorties across the Bering? That didn’t last long either. And by the way-—isn’t their northern coast pretty much iced up this time of year? Maybe those 80 ships are frose-in hanger queens also?
