a minute ago BBC live coverage:
“We want to very visibly embrace Ukraine,” an official travelling with US Secretary of State John Kerry is quoted by the Reuters news agency as saying. “Part of that is through an IMF package, part of it will be through bilateral assistance but in conjunction with our partners to try to support Ukraine.”

Given the economic state of our country, Kerry may have to borrow that billion from his wife.

Why doesn't Obama use his mighty pen and phone to tame Russia? Or better yet, why doesn't he send his homosexual, transvestite, lesbian, questioning, confused, not sure, queer army to help Ukraine?

Putin says Gazprom to scrap gas price discount for Ukraine

By Alexei Anishchuk

NOVO-OGARYOVO, Russia (Reuters) - Russia’s top gas producer, Gazprom, will remove a discount on the price it charges Ukraine for gas from April, President Vladimir Putin said on Tuesday, stepping up pressure on Moscow’s neighbour.

(snip)

“If you are not paying us anyway and we are only noting a growing debt, let’s better note it under a regular price, not a lowered price. This is the commercial element of Gazprom operations,” Putin told reporters at his residence near Moscow.

How come he never did the same for us during the Cold War? Just curious.

Did Congress pass a bill authorizing this, or have they given the administration a blank check?

(I don’t know if it is a good or a bad idea. I just want to know if Congress is even involved in spending our money anymore.)

Sure, we’ll just take that Billion out of the defense budget. The world is stable now, we won’t need it there.

Ah yes, more “smart power” from the liberal fantasy land.
Don’t actually DO anything worth doing, just say some words, wave a hand around, make pretentious statements of power, and then when people actually die because of you, turn around and say “what difference does it make”.

Any chance that he’ll fall into Russian hands and they keep the horse faced moron?

On a side thought, we’re seeing what a Kerry presidency would do as well.
Benghazi showed us a Hillary presidency...

NYTimes: Kerry, Arriving in Kiev, Offers $1 Billion in Loan Guarantees to Ukraine
The purpose of the loan guarantee is to support Ukraine’s efforts to integrate with the West and to help offset the reduction of energy subsidies from Russia, which has challenged the new government’s legitimacy and occupied the Crimean Peninsula.

The taxpayer money SHOULD BE USED FOR PIPELINES
and ENERGY PRODUCTION, rather than paying off
Kerry, al Qaeda and neoNazi’s to whom it will be given.

I’d be happy with a check for about $100k.

Since they’re in the business of wasting and giving away our money, if they combined TARP, porkulous/other pork/waste, foriegn aid, and other bailouts during recent years and distributed it evenly to federal income tax PAYERS, I wonder how much we would have gotten.

It would have been money put to much better use at least....

The United States will also send technical experts to help Ukraine’s national bank and finance ministry, provide advice on how to fight corruption and train election monitors to help establish the legitimacy of Ukraine’s coming election.
