The American CEO of an exchange for the troubled bitcoin digital currency has been found dead after a suspected suicide at her home in Singapore.

Wisconsin native, Autumn Radtke, 28, was discovered inside her apartment on February 28 and officials in the South East Asian city state are now waiting for toxicology test results to determine the exact cause of death.

Douglas Adams, the non-executive chairman of First Meta confirmed that his colleague had passed away in a statement which said the company was 'shocked and saddened by the tragic loss of our friend and CEO Autumn Radtke.'

The death of Radtke is the latest piece of bad news to hit the crisis-ridden bitcoin currency following the collapse of the Japanese-based Mt Gox exchange last week after $400m went missing and the closure of the Flexcoin bank yesterday in Canada after computer hackers robbed $600,000.

You don't 'suicide' at 28 when you are running a major financial company.

When you're 28, you're not prepared to run a multimillion dollar company that's based on a fake currency. Bitcoin is nothing but a ponzi scheme and only hard core creeps have the ability to keep that house of cards standing.

She didn't have what it takes and faced with the fact that many of her friends and family likely lost megabucks in the latest crash, she couldn't handle the pressure.......

It's no coincidence that she was cozy with Branson, he probably made another fortune before selling off before the crash.........

Acorn’s founder was Wade Radke, same last name. Wonder if there’s a relation?

~~~She’s on the girl on the right.~~~
Well, that seems socially unacceptable.
And she must be really tiny, as I cannot see her.
No, someone looked it up on Wiki, and found that the name is close but not identical.
Branson is also ugly and dirty-looking, in this girl’s opinion.
Some script writer needs to get on board with this story soon. Sounds like a blockbuster hollywood movie in the making.
So, that’s how you become a CEO in your 20’s!
Gotta be a girl though
or
3. The processes at Mt. Gox had a flaw, leading to instability in the books which was exploited. The young CEO got in over her head starting with something interesting and manageable, but then scaled out of her control (both in price and press); when it broke to the tune of a half-billion dollars, she (being inexperienced in life) decided to hit the off switch just to make the stress go away.
I’m all for siding with Occam’s Razor: the simplest explanation is probably right.
There’s a reason executives of large companies are paid a great deal: ability to manage risk and stress.
Per the linked article:
Autumn Radtke began work in the technology sector at the age of 22 as a consultant for Virgin Charter, where she worked with chairman and billionaire entrepreneur Richard Branson.
Also per the linked article:
On February 10, Radtke posted a link to an essay entitled 'The Psychological Price of Entrepreneurship' and commented obliquely that 'Everything has it's price'.
It sounds as if she was depressed (and gifted with an excess apostrophe).
