The Insiders: Get ready for the Obamacare ‘Big Punt’ (Individual mandate collapse)
Washington Post ^ | 3/06/14 | Ed Rogers

**SNIP**

The distraction of Ukraine and the media’s numbness to the stream of Obamacare travails is providing time and a smokescreen for Obama to prepare a big announcement for after March 31, 2014: The BIG PUNT, i.e. a delay in the individual mandate.

The White House and their Democratic allies must realize that they are on a trajectory to lose the Senate in 2014 and are likely coming to terms with the idea that delaying the individual mandate is one way to attempt to change that path. Look for the president to bite the bullet and give in to the vulnerable Democrats, consultants, pundits and other credible handwringers who are telling the president they must try anything and everything to alter the course of the elections. Otherwise, the last two years of the president’s time in office will be spent either vetoing or signing into law Republican legislation, and only conservative-approved nominees will be confirmed for any federal post by a Republican Senate.

they know what obamacare has done, it’s all a desired effect. zeke confirmed what obama said back in 2008 about single payer. that’s what it is supposed to bring about.

government as provider, decider and denier.

It was clear from the beginning that the whole ACA was intended to drive the insurance companies out of the health care market

No worries for the insurance companies. They have the "risk corridors" to subsidize their losses. They'll make out like bandits.

Thus, the insurance companies are left holding the bag. They are forced to offer more expensive plans with fewer people enrolled, but the pool of people covered is effectively expanded.

This sentence makes sense to you?

Will Speaker Boehner force Obama to obey “THE LAW OF THE LAND?”

Or will Speaker Boehner just continue to be a doormat “yes man” for any changes that Obama makes to Obamacare?

It won't, but it is the most egregious aspect of Obamacare. The requirement that you have to buy a product whatever it costs and however bad/useless it is was not even present in Soviet Russia. It is the most reprehensible attack on our liberty in Obamacare.

RE: “How many uninsured are there now, versus before ObamaCare?”

As you point out, THAT is the only important question.

The most recent national numbers I can find are about 1 month old.

3.1 million - under age 26, added to parent's policy by law.

2 million - new to Medicaid, about 4 million more renewed Medicaid.

Unknown Number - 3 million have signed up for ObamaCare policies, but how many were not insured before is not known.

So, maybe 6 million new people are now insured.

Only 40 million to go!

The problem was, "peregruzka" doesn't mean reset. It means overcharged, or overloaded.

I can’t wait to see how the Stupid Party manages to turn this debacle into obama’s crowning success in time for the fall elections.

GOP mouthpieces will likely be seen daily on the news praising the hero obama for postponing obamacare and helping out the people. (They’ll also put in a plug for amnesty as long as the camera is there and running.)

Jonny McCain will be leading the pack once he takes over for Carney as obama’s spokeswar”hero”person.

If I sound excited, it’s because I am.

It was clear from the beginning that the whole ACA was intended to drive the insurance companies out of the health care market and “force” the government to step in with single payer.

I know that most liberals have a remarkable inability to think logically, or to foresee the most obvious consequences of liberal policies, but isn't it likely that at least a few liberals will put 2 and 2 together and realize that the government's incompetence at running the medical insurance industry indicates that it will also not be competent at running the health care industry?

Seriously, what do the lawyers running the government know about health care?

But, by breaking the insurance companies hold on the healthcare market a pivot to a free market system can also be had. This is an opportunity.

Most medical costs are driven by state and local regulations that limit medical competition. The FedGov has lowered prices via reimbursement limitations, but the real action is local.

Democrats realize they are on a trajectory to lose the Senate in 2014 .....the little jerks making moves on the Godzillian O/Care monster rampaging through our healthcare system is one way braindead pols think they might save their sorry ***es......

The thought of losing their seats is giving Dems nightmares (and bad cases of crotch itch)..... never fear, vote-crazed Dems got endless vote fraud tricks up their sleeves.

Republicans need to be alert----Obama went on latino TV whining about "underdeserved" latinos and is conniving to get them enrolled.

INCONVENIENT FACTOID Latinos do not need to pay for O/Care---they can get free healthcare any frickin' time they want it.

Obama's "latino enrollment" scam is a ruse to get vote-crazed Dems illegals on the Dem rolls. NOTE WELL healthcare.gov is also a voter registration site. Tricky Democrats can easily plug in enrollees into their voter rolls.....and count them as votes on election day.

================================================

Here's how the tricky Dems are working the enrollment voter scam: O/Care's Oregon state exchange "accidentally" enrolled 4000 illegals

PASS THE WORD: This is a scam. Enrolling illegals was no accident. Obamacare web sites are also setup to accept voter registrations.

In Oregon vote-crazed Dems racked up 4000 votes (that we know of) to help them survive looming 2014 midterms).

BOOKMARK THIS Each state's Secretary of State is required to check into all cases of reported voter fraud. Course a Dem won't. But many states have Repub Secy's of State. They should be notified about illegals registering via O/Care.....and fraudulently plugged into Democrat voter rolls.

......Obama always manages to be AWOL when blame is being assessed.....but somehow karma comes calling: 2010 elections were the first signs of Obamacare's toxicity. Back then, O/care was just a gazillion-page bill waiting to be implemented by bureaucratic vultures hovering over the dying body politic of US freedom. Now O/Care is a live parasite choking the life out of our health care system .... all thanks to Democrats straight party-line vote

LET'S STROLL DOWN MEMORY LANE As far back as 2008, at the presidential debate in Nashville, Democrat candidate Obama advanced his signature healthcare plan---ultimately enacted, by an historic straight Democrat party-line vote, into the "Affordable Care Act"

QUOTING 2008 OBAMA: "No. 1, let me just repeat, if you’ve got a health care plan that you like, you can keep it. All I’m going to do is help you to lower the premiums on it. You’ll still have choice of doctor.”

Repeated over and over ---- with the promise that every American family would be saving $2500.00 on healthcare costs.

Significantly, Obamba NEVER corrected lock-stepping Democrats, all reading from the same Democrat talking points, all of them repeating the same Democrat promises---over and over again.

LOCK-STEPPING PARTY LOYALTY NOT SEEN SINCE 1930-40's ERA EUROPE Obama And the Dems marched in lockstep.....the persistent Dumbocrat drumbeat ---- in obeisance to Obama ---- kept ringing reassuringly in our ears: "If you like your plan, you can keep your plan."

===============================================

Even if Obama manages to escape the O/Care stigma, he is toxic for Dems---all of them super-glued onto his persona......

BACKSTORY In 2009, retiring Arkansas Rep. Marion Berry presciently warned that ObamaCare was setting up Democrats for a huge 2010 midterm defeat; just as “HillaryCare” led to Democrat loss of 54 House seats in 1994.

Obama scoffed at such concerns; he told Berry, “Well, the big difference here is you’ve got me.”

SO MUCH FOR O'S EGOTISM 2010 Republicans went on to win 63 House seats and six Senate seats.....the largest swing to Repubs in the House since 1938. So Obama was right---the difference was him. ROTFL.

On to 2014.

=====================================================

ALL TOGETHER, NOW----LET'S HUM THE THEME FROM "JAWS" White House chief of staff Denis McDonough held an unpublicized meeting with Sen. Michael Bennet (DIMWIT-Colo), chairman of the Senate Democrats’ campaign arm, amid anger and anxiety that ObamaCare’s botched rollout could cost the party its majority next year.

In the meeting, requested by the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC), McDonough and Bennet discussed what the White House could do to help vulnerable Senate Democrats and “talked about developing a stronger relationship with the White House.”

(That cockamamie idea was quickly discarded. After all, Democrats reasoned, who would believe a ditzy story like that.....other than the brain dead MSM media.)

Democratic senators fear the White House is not sympathetic enough to their plight. After the government shutdown, they were confident they would retain the Senate, maybe even retake the House; but Dem optimism vanished as problems with the healthcare law mounted.

(The buzz is Speaker-wannabe Pelosi disconsolately went back to sucking up everything in sight.)

“I know these guys are nervous as hell. I mean, all of their jobs are on the line because Obamacare is the thing making the biggest political waves lately. It’s a nightmare,” Denis whined.

================================================

WATTA RELIEF--DEMOCRATS COME UP WITH THE ONLY WORKABLE SOLUTION Obama recently announced the White House's 2014 Senate strategy: "Keep Obama away." The extensive midterm campaign strategy is built around one unavoidable fact: Hardly any candidates in the most competitive states want President Barack Obama anywhere near them on the campaign trail.
