Perry: "Time for a Little Rebellion"
National Review Online ^ | March 7, 2014 | Andrew Johnson

Posted on 03/07/2014 7:37:25 AM PST by Biggirl

Touting the contrast between red states and blue states, Rick Perry kicked off the second day of CPAC by spiritedly urging his audience to help bring back those successful conservative policies that have been absent in Washington for the last several years. “It’s time for a little rebellion on the battlefield of ideas,” the Texas governor said, paraphrasing Thomas Jefferson.

“We don’t have to accept recent history — we just need to change the presidency,” Perry continued. “We must elect the right kind of leaders to represent us to Washington.”

He’d better accept that those he accused of having no hearts are the ones with hearts to begin with.

Luckily for the GOP, Greg Abbott is the gubernatorial nominee and not Perry again.

His speech was great.
C-SPAN doesn’t have it posted in its library yet.

At least Senator Ted Cruz spoke yesterday. Great future ahead of him.

What is wrong with the youth today?

Their are like cows content with crumbs.

They are the ones who should be screaming about NSA and Big Brother. They are the ones whose futures are trashed and condemned to whatever the United States Socialist Government ALLOWS them to do.

I’m shocked that the young are so brainwashed with sex, media and propaganda they don’t think.

“I probably choose a poor word to explain that. For people who don’t want their state to be giving tuition to illegal aliens, illegal immigrants in this country, that’s their call, and I respect that,” Perry said in an interview with Newsmax. “I was probably a bit over-passionate by using that word, and it was inappropriate.”

“It is a state’s sovereign right to decide that issue for themselves. In Texas in 2001, we had 181 members of the legislature. Only four voted against this piece of legislation because it wasn’t about immigration. It was about education,” Perry said. “The bigger issue is that the federal government has failed in its constitutional duty to secure our borders.”

I sure hope he considers a run and if he’s in ... he needs to get in early and fight hard.

I like Perry and I think he would make a terrific President.

Can’t wait for the elections. Great speeches are empty without action and the GOP must act now with what little they have. The House does hold the power of the purse. And can impeach. Only the House can impeach even if the Senate will not support it.

“We must elect the right kind of leaders to represent us to Washington.”

Wrong concept. We need to disempower “Washington”. We need to make it nearly irrelevant to our lives.

For the record, Perry is against amnesty.

Interesting way to redact, if redaction it is. The context back then was him as candidate for POTUS.

Gotta brag for a second:

My daughter turned 18 in January. She voted for the first time in the Texas March 4 primary. She also caucused and was elected a delegate.
