Reflections on America's fall, from CPAC 2014
WND ^ | March 7, 2014 | Matt Barber

The question is not, “Is America falling?” but, rather, “Why is America falling?”

I’m currently writing from CPAC 2014, the nation’s largest gathering of conservative political junkies. The event is being held at the beautiful Gaylord National hotel, adjacent the scenic shoreline of the historic Potomac River. We’re just a few short miles from Washington, D.C., which, at least for now, remains the modern-day equivalent of the Roman Empire.

I say “at least for now” because America finds itself skipping along the primrose path to Rome’s ill-fated finale. I needn’t trouble you with evidence to that effect as this tragic reality is hopelessly inescapable. It’s a self-evident truth. Unless our next generation of leaders – Gen-Y Millennials – can successfully turn things around, we’re up the Potomac without a paddle.

I've enjoyed reading Matt Barber over the years. This is a good article that gets to the core of things.

I have a problem with the preoccupation of decorum and canon.

The author is disappointed stating the following:

Alas, our next generation of conservative leaders are not chanting, “Amer-i-ca! Amer-i-ca!” They are, instead, chanting, “F**k O-bama! F**k O-bama!”

And I hang my head.

Certainly prudence is pertinent, but what if they were declaring the same to Hitler, Stalin, Mao?

The burden placed on the next generation is arguably insurmountable. I think a little #ing attitude is well deserved.

Libertine libertarianism has infected the conservative movement like a cancer. Situational ethics, driven by emotional, anecdotal sob stories, are used to justify every moral wrong as an absolute right. “Get off the social issues!” they demand. “Gay marriage? No problem.”

How true!

Hard to find anyone in the lot that may have been infected with the cancer that has infected most

For CPAC to never get from a stone’s throw to the Capitol all these years, and then even further have the gall to deign to have a Christie or a McConnell speak before them and pretend to be conservative is absolute heresy to conservatism in my opinion.

Just like this Administration, we should be condemning RINOs and devious liars within our own ranks instead of allowing them to pull another kabuki off on the American conservative electorate.

Frankly, I don’t give a crap who votes for who and for what at CPAC - they don’t influence me one iota any more in terms of deciding on a potential nominee.

I am not a big fan of the F word, as far as gratuitous use when there are many good standard English words out there that can serve the purpose.

HOWEVER, there comes a time when its usage is appropriate, perhaps even required.

America is failing and falling since it’s on the wrong side of history. Simple enough for the casual observer, invisible to those with minds down the rabbit hole.

Of all the pretty speeches made at CPAC .Not one reference of the decision made to the platform change in the 2012 Democratic convention to delete the word and reference to God and the jeering of the delegates when the chair rammed the reference back in. Just like they rammed through Zero Care in the Senate.

No speculating why the Democrats don’t believe in the 10 Commandments, or why they’re such liars.

The battle is not Republican vs. Democrat. Neither is it conservative vs. liberal. The battle precedes time itself. The battle is right vs. wrong. The battle is moral vs. immoral. The battle is truth vs. the lie.

The battle is between good and evil.

Yes, as always is the case here in the world until the Serpent's reign is over and perhaps we are very close to that ending.

The oddest thing about this era and generation is that we love calling evil good and good evil and how quickly things have been redefined in only a few decades.

Like the 1974 Doobie Bros album cover title says: "What were once vices are now habits" and we take great pride and pleasure in wanting more and more.

We modern Noah's neighbors were warned of these days, but its so hard to ignore the serpent's worldly siren call to care.
