You know, the Republican Establishment, desperate to stop Cruz and Paul, says the next Republican nominee should be a governor.

Hmmmm...Sarah was a governor.

Yeah, but she quit, rather than allow herself to be bankrupted and her political future in tatters. She was supposed to stand there and get destroyed, damnit!

Palin’s speech was just simply awesome!!! As Winston Churchill claimed to Herr Hitler, after the Battle of Britain and the non-stop bombing of London......”We are coming for you!!!”!!! And....with those few simple uttered words, the RAF began non-stop bombing of Germany at night, while the USAAF did the same routine during daylight hours!!! The downfall of Hitler & his Nazi’s had begun.

Ms. Palin has clearly put failed POTUS Obama, his useless Obamabots and Democrat Party dregs, on notice that “We, the people, are coming out to vote , come Novenber, 2014 to destroy Obama, his Obamabots & his Democrat Party politically, for a long time to come!!! The revolution for Freedom , Liberty & Equal Opportunity has begun. Bravo...Ms. Palin!!!

Governors DO make more effective Presidents. Reagan, Clinton, FDR...arguably three of the most effective (not necessarily GOOD) guys in office—the executive experience of running a state translates well into the executive federal branch.

Legislators are more on the outside of the executive arena.

They don’t, USUALLY make effective Presidents.

One exception: the unsung President Polk, who was ONCE Speaker of the House (the only former SoH to become President, by the way)....

But generally speaking, men who have only been legislators are not very strong Presidents.

Of course, perhaps in this day, we do not want a strong executive branch.

I taught Jr High American history for many years and am always amazed at how Polk is so overlooked. He added Texas, Oregon Country, and the Mexican Cession to the U.S. fulfilling the idea of our nation stretching from sea to sea. And he did it in one term.

To resize an image you simply insert height=xxx into the html (400 is a good choice)
between the final " and the > at the end.

...and he promised to only serve one term....so he came, he saw, he conquered....and then left.

I went to his childhood home in North Carolina a few years ago. Pretty awesome.

Yes, he is in no way like the original Uncle Sam, who was actually Samuel Wilson, my great great great uncle from Troy, NY, 1812.
