AUSTIN, Texas -- An Austin, Texas, technology company says 20 of its employees were aboard the Malaysia Airlines plane that went missing over the South China Sea.
Jacey Zuniga, a spokeswoman for Freescale Semiconductor, says 12 Malaysian and 8 Chinese employees are "confirmed passengers." She says no American citizen Freescale employees were on the flight.
On the bright side, might be a good time to send them a resume! /sarc
Wrong place at the wrong time.
It was some crazy A Rab and/or Nutjob Islamist. Or two.
He?they wanted to die and kill to prove a point that nobody else agrees with.
That, and nothing else.
It doesn't take a worldwide conspiracy to make another silly-assed Islamist terror action.
That's why we should kill all of them.
That is certainly a policy question, especially for companies that have corporate jets.

Freescale's commercial products can meet the requirements of applications such as:
Battlefield communications
Avionics
HF through L- and S-Band radar
Missile guidance
Electronic warfare
Identification, friend or foe (IFF)
Doesn’t really sound like an “American” company.
Their operation in Malaysia is a final packaging/ssembly/test/ facility. The majority of their wafer fab (front end) operations are stateside. They are one of the top microcontroller suppliers to the automotive electronics business.
That would present a problem. However, to me if the 20 people were design engineers, manufacturing and production engineers experienced in chip foundry applications and applications engineers, I'd think that would be more harmful for the company.

Maybe the chips that allow the feds to take over so the of the functions of the newer vehicles maybe ala Michael Hastings style?....: )
And they have a special team devoted to US defense operations, it says on their website.
Brain implant capabilities?
On their website it says Freescale had a special team working with US defense. I don’t know much at all about electronics..
