You never know. My dad’s best friend in college, also in ESL classes had an Irish sounding name, was 3/4 Cherokee and looked it, only spoke French and had a passport from Congo.
THAT is amazingly ignorant. to prohibit airlines from access to stolen passports.
I wonder if there is a way to find out if our gov’t uses that list and makes it abailable to all airlines.
wow that is one dumb policy
and seems likely the terrorists, whoever they were, likely knew that and took advantage of it
“The airlines dont have access to Interpols stolen passport database. Its available only to law enforcement, which is an ignorant policy, IMHO.”
Totally agree.

Flying into Moscow in the mid 1980's was like that too. You go into a glass booth with mirrors behind you, the guy looks you up/down all over, makes a few calls, taps on the computer, asks more questions, and eventually lets you in.
Which reminds me of the old joke:
A Chinese man with the name Sean O’Grady was asked how he acquired such a moniker.
He said that the guy in front of him at Ellis Island was named Sean O’Grady.
When his turn came, he said his name was Sam Ting...
Me too, which is why we may never see them.
taken from 33K feet?
When you get to Israel they ask you some more questions, and my Mom is an Israeli citizen and they still bombarded her with questions..when you get to the airport you can’t even get into the country until you answer some more questions, like why are you there, and how long are you staying, who are you staying with, questions like that..my sister when she first went to Israel to meet her husband’s family for the first time, they interrogated her at the airport for over an hour, took her into a room and asked her everything under the sun, she still was able to board the flight but still their security its the best in the world nothing compares to it
Thanks BuckeyeTexan.
This Malaysian plane crash has resulted in what appears to be more than fifty topics.
Either that or they’d have to replace the real pics with theirs and still match up as to age and sex. What I don’t understand is why stolen passports aren’t universally and instantly deactivated, just as stolen credit cards are.
Never have flown in or out of KL have you?
On passports if you go to china you have to get your Chinese visa weeks ahead of time at the consulate you actually have to surrender your passport to the Chinese embassy so they can check it out..the Chinese should have check these passports out six ways from Sunday that’s what they do before they let you in there country
Who has repeatedly stolen passports from Western Europeans and then used them to travel to and from Muslim countries for espionage?
There was info that the two people traveling on bogus passports had booked that flight to Europe; and Beijing was just a stop, thereby not needing a visa for China or additional scrutiny. - tom
If you fly out of DFW and have metal in your joints they will grope you rather than interrogate. Thanks, I’ll take El Al.
