It would be a good idea for Rand Paul to pull his support of McConnell after this.

Why am I not surprised.

The TEA party is generally for balanced budgets and a small CONSTITUTIONAL government, so it's no wonder he's against it.

As a leading member of the kinder, gentler marxist team, he's none of those things.

Go away, Mitch. You've done enough damage.

Good bye and good riddance.

McCain would be out of office but for Sarah Palin.

Benson [Guy Benson, political editor of Townhall.com] wondered why McConnell didn't choose his words more carefully and questioned why he chose a "hostile venue" like the New York Times.

Duh. Dumb comment since anyone who follows McConnell's follies knows he's more comfortable with liberal left-wing media outlets than conservative ones.

Maybe Sarah Palin, Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, Rand Paul, and some other key Tea Party should converge on Kentucky to campaign VISIBLY for Bevin, and lend THEIR weight to “crush” McConnell.

What an arrogant, cowardly POS, to say something like that.

Your statement is exactly why the lib pubs stay in control..... they know conservatives will “take their toys and go home”......

instead, head to the polls in droves and vote third party.....

that is the only way to send a crystal clear message

Well it’s good to know that the GOP has their priorities straight and knows who the enemy is.

To Hell with the damn GOP.

Dear $itch McConnell:

Your BFF Cornyn was rejected by 41% of the vote in TX last week. This made him a Ted Cruz, say, underling, to keep it clean. Run Ted tomorrow and he’d take 100%.

So, you spend 8 million dollars or so, and you still might lose to Bevin.

When are you going to accept, admit and advance that freedom cannot be bought off? Never? That’s right and that’s why you’re in the cross-hairs.

We had a LOT of Tea party upsets over incumbents in Texas. (Not the major race with Cornyn with his $12million budget, but a lot of others.)

I think a Teaparty tsunami may be headed the way of the GOPe!

Is McConnell actually leading Bevin in polls 61 to 23 as Fx News video in referenced article shows?

HA! Shortly after I read about Mitch coming out on stage with a nondescript front stuffer, I said that "McConnell with a Gun" was damn near "Dukakis in a Tank." Oh, man!

Seriously… WTH was McConnell thinking? He looked like like a cross-dressing grandma holding up a stage prop. I agree with some of the others on the forum: if he really had any sand in his craw, he'd have walked out with a Colt 6920 (or similar).

Then again, if he had any of that sand, he'd have already given The One a political wedgie at least a couple of times.

I wonder if he gets his smokes from the same place Pelosi does. Haven’t they figured it out yet? At the base level, the Tea Party IS the GOP. There’s not enough Establishment GOP voters to crush a bug if the rank and file turns against them.
