GOP hopeful said vote for Mitt Romney was vote for 'tyranny'

A year before launching his Republican U.S. Senate campaign, Greg Brannon urged people not to vote for the party’s presidential nominee, saying a vote for Mitt Romney would “advance tyranny.”

Brannon also said Romney and President Barack Obama, a Democrat, “despise the Constitution,” as he minimized the differences between the two major parties.

The comments came in a blog that Brannon co-wrote on the website of Founders’ Truth, a group he helped found.

The Cary physician is one of eight Republicans vying in a May 6 primary to challenge Democratic Sen. Kay Hagan. In January he acknowledged not voting for Romney, his party’s last presidential nominee.

Brannon, 53, is standing by his statements.

“I’m a lifelong Republican who firmly believes that we will continue to lose elections if we don’t nominate candidates who will stand on principle,” he said in a statement. “Moderate Republicans have given us out-of-control spending, unsustainable debt and bigger government. Enough is enough.”

It was at a January forum in Winston-Salem that Brannon mentioned not voting for Romney, saying he had supported abortion rights. Romney once supported abortions but said as president he would sign legislation banning them. “You cannot ever waver on life,” Brannon said at the forum.

He used stronger language in the June 2012 post.

“Voters need to vote in light of the obvious truth that no substantial difference exists between Barack Hussein Obama and Willard ‘Mitt’ Romney,” he wrote. “Understanding and applying this simple truth is liberating.

One of the worst most liberal and stupid newspapers in the US.

Whether Brannon is the right man or not is not my point.

My point is the News Records is no place to go for facts.

Big Brannon supporter here….but this is not my favorite statement of his. On one hand, it’s somewhat true…on the other hand, such statements ignore the fact that the alternative was even more tyranny sooner…..

I’m sure they put this in the paper to try to make Brannon look like a crazy nut. But he’s speaking the truth, and will probably increase his support.

Romney was not going to downsize the government, that’s one thing for sure.

He would have repealed and replaced Obamacare with his Obamacare-lite Romneycare.

Forcing people to buy health insurance is something that Obamacare and Romneycare in Massachusetts had in common.

That is a form of tryranny.

Sounds like they’re trying to paint him as a ‘radical’.

“I’m a lifelong Republican who firmly believes that we will continue to lose elections if we don’t nominate candidates who will stand on principle,” he said in a statement. “Moderate Republicans have given us out-of-control spending, unsustainable debt and bigger government. Enough is enough.”

****************************************************

No problem with that particular statement. Obviously, this truth hurts. Romney was/is definitely part of the GOPe scene & they have complicity in this country’s current issues, fiscal and otherwise.

I think I’d be much happier with Mitt’s tyrrany than Baraq Hussein Obama / Barry Sotero / Barry Shabazz’s. At least one is a real American citizen who’s not chumming it up with guys who cut off people’s heads or blow them to pieces. And at least I know Mitt Romney’s real name. How people can stand by the traitor after everything he’s done is beyond me unless they are truly blind and retarded.

Here is the playbook of the Republican Establishment.

Smear, Smear, Smear.

Destroy the Conservative to elect a candidate who will expand government and support the Democratic agenda.

Dr. Brannon is a great candidate and will make a great Senator.

But I ‘get’ what Brannon is saying. More of the same, just a different name.

As much as I didn’t want Romney to be our nominee (I was a Gingrich supporter) in no way could I ever be made to believe that Romney would “advance tyranny” or that he “despised the Constitution.”

I would consider any politician who made stupid statements such as this a nutcase who didn’t deserve my support.

Well, I voted for Romney and tyranny certainly has advanced since then.

I guess he was right.

My parents also said in 1964 that IF you voted for Goldwater we would go to Vietnam!~ Well, they both voted for Goldwater and we DID keep going to Vietnam.

Same thing.

PS: great win for David Jolly - now...... will the GOPe back him?

Do I really have to hunt up a LOL cat ???

wait this is about Willard...

I will..

In 1994 during the US Senate debate when he made Teddy K look like a Conservative, Willard said

“I sustain Roe V Wade it is the law of the land. I will never do anything to change Roe V Wade. I support a woman’s right to an abortion.”

and he said the same in 2002 adding that he would override parental authority and have judges allow underage girls to kill their unborn babies..

Meanwhile Nana will do an Aarnold ...

I’ll be back... with that pic of the cat..

Well said.

Note that the GOP-e has picked up Romney’s “Torch of Tyranny” and is happily working on their own version of Federal Medical Inurance.

Will the TEA Party Reps. in the US House rise up and replace Boehner and abolish his RINOcare replacement of Obamacare?

Romney is hoping that Boehner’s RINOcare prevails - - - - .

BTW, why are so many RINOs so determined to continue the financial destruction of America by advocating Federal RINOcare?

FORWARD !

“Republican U.S. Senate campaign, Greg Brannon urged people not to vote for the party’s presidential nominee, saying a vote for Mitt Romney would “advance tyranny.”........

Well, it’s pretty obvious which side of the aisle that ass hat came from. At least if Romney had won, we would have been rid of odumbo by now and MAYBE facing other issues than “train wrecks”.
