Washington, D.C.) - The President recently participated in a health care town hall with Spanish-language media. He responded to a question received via email, from a consumer who makes $36,000 per year and cannot find insurance for a family of three for less than $315 per month. The President responded that "if you looked at their cable bill, their telephone, their cell phone bill... it may turn out that, it's just they haven't prioritized health care." He added that if a family member gets sick, the father "will wish he had paid that $300 a month."
According to the National Center for Public Policy Research, the health care law is reducing choice and increasing premiums for millions of Americans. Ehealthinsurance reports that consumers are paying an average of 39% more than they did before the law was implemented. The high cost of policies is contributing to the continued weak enrollment numbers under the law, which are now showing signs of decreasing with less than 3 weeks left to enroll. When he sought the Presidency, Mr. Obama said his plan would deliver affordable care that people would be "desperate" to purchase.
Daniel Garza, Executive Director of The LIBRE Initiative released the following statement:
"If the President actually believes that a family earning less than $40,000 per year can afford nearly $4,000 in health insurance premiums, then he truly does not understand middle-income families. Americans do not need the President to tell them how to Budget their households. People are already cutting back on things like cable television and cell phones, just to compensate for an awful economy. This President promised he would deliver on affordable health care. Instead, premiums are up, out-of-pocket expenses are up, and overall cost of living is up. The President simply doesn't get it. And his condescending attitude adds insult to injury."
You could also put Entitilist on there.
How can I call the “bambalamps” wiff no foam?
El Presidente is probably thinking he is talking to his core inner city constituency with all those reparations handouts: EBT cards, governmental housing, welfare payments, “earned Income Credits”, Obama phonies. ObamaCareLess....... plus what ever else one can steal.
Nailed it.Nothing like being preached to by the Vacationer in Chief about having to make sacrifices
why? BEFORE Obamacare, people could have ALL three... and why shouldn't we? why should people who do things right have to work only for necessities? there is more to life than necessities, whether it's a cell phone, cable television, a movie at the theatre, cupcakes from a neighborhood bakery, a $12.00 bottle of Malbec, Crest 3-D White strips, a professional haircut, potpourri, a new hardcover book... a CD... whatever... how dare anyone say people need to prioritize when they were able to have all of it before the so-called affordable healthcare..
Just last September he was bragging that Obamacare would cost less than their phone bills! But hey, that’s so two thousand thirteen!
Meanwhile, he has had his third vacation of the year, and costs us anywhere from 11 to 100 million or more per vacation.
Now, an ad like this with the translation would make obama voters desert him like rats leaving a ship. Certainly, the president is joking if he wants them to give up these necessities.—or is he about ready to use his pen to make sure all of these things are “free stuff”, too?
“This is one time when I sort of agree with Caliph Baraq.
(scary moment for me)”
I understand your point and I would also agree, except that my agreement would be with stating these realities BEFORE he signed a law that forces me to buy a service from a private company. It is irresponsible of him to make the statements AFTER he has dictated how we MUST spend our money.
His snarkiness is really just an insight into what he really thinks of the populace. He considers us pawns to be used in his theoritical games!
Yet the cable and phone companies will continue to fund the Democrats.
The bill is more comparable to a monthly grocery bill than cell phone and cable bills. We should be recycling the left-wing favorite rhetoric of people having to choose between their medical care and feeding the family. Bring on all those dog food images, and hammer away at the uncaring, selfish, money-hungry soulless bastards who run the system.
So the idiots at mslsd are in the position of reporting that the smartest president ever wants people to cancel cable?!?!
Priceless.
If only a few million drones would do it.
His buddies get a phone free, and cable service, free.
(We pay for them and can’t afford them ourselves!)
I checked what Obamacare would cost hubby and I.....almost $1300 a month plus a huge deductible. That is more than our mortgage payment which includes insurance and taxes.
He can take his cell phone bills and cable bills statement and shove them where the sun will never shine.
Gas prices have doubled since the "Oil Man Buddy" left office in 2009.Fortunately my health insurance bill is the same monthly. I pay 0 dollars. You know why? I am a PT Teamster working for Big Brown. I make 12.00 an hour, but get a health plan worth 1800 a month. Low deductibles too.
Obama wants to tax my insurance plan worth over 20,000 a year in added income working that job that pays me 8,000 a year.
They tried bringing the layabouts into UPS(welfare to work program) in the late 90's for the opportunity to get a job. All of them were picked up and driven to work. Child care was provided by the gov. 100% of them quit within 2 weeks. They could not handle real physical labor.
Single payer has always been his end game.
Just what the low informatin latino voter wants to hear. Give up your phone and cable. I’m screaming. :-)
:)
That’s another good one!!
