All Andy Johnson wanted to do was build a stock pond on his sprawling eight-acre Wyoming farm. He and his wife Katie spent hours constructing it, filling it with crystal-clear water, and bringing in brook and brown trout, ducks and geese. It was a place where his horses could drink and graze, and a private playground for his three children.
But instead of enjoying the fruits of his labor, the Wyoming welder says he was harangued by the federal government, stuck in what he calls a petty power play by the Environmental Protection Agency. He claims the agency is now threatening him with civil and criminal penalties including the threat of a $75,000-a-day fine.
I have not paid them a dime nor will I, a defiant Johnson told FoxNews.com. I will go bankrupt if I have to fighting it. My wife and I built [the pond] together. We put our blood, sweat and tears into it. It was our dream.
But Johnson may be in for a rude awakening.

Eeeep! Not the AARP!!! You really know how to hurt a guy!
Welcome aboard!
DING!! DING!! DING!! Lookie here folks!! We have a winner!!!
Seriously... You may be more correct than some people will ever believe. My personal thoughts are than we will see an ever increasing number of cases like this involving many different federal agencies. Continuous pushing by the feds, hoping to start something with the remaining Constitutionalists in a believe that they can wipe us out. They sorely underestimate our numbers and our strengths. Truthfully, I believe it might play out in a manner very similar to what occurs in Unintended Consequences by John Ross. There are Henry Bowman types all over the place.
I haven’t read all the posts yet but 8 acres isn’t exactly what I would consider “sprawling”. That’s just a moderately sized back yard in Texas.
Seriously, EPA GTH!
This picture was taken within 90 miles of whaer I now sit in the Central Idaho Mountains a couple of years ago.
Those are big animals in that pack...probably in the 160-180 pound range.
If you doubt the size I am telling you about. I have a dozen pictures of different wolves killed in the area like this over the last three or four years:
It’s about time for the FedMob to have a rude awakening.
They’ll demand he fills it in. And when he does, they will hit him with a million dollar fine for destroying a wetland.
Then, he can apply for a government handout of two million dollars to help pay for “wetland restoration.”
I swear the EPA is worse than the IRS. They’ve long since outlived their usefulness and now are just harassing people to justify their existence.
I wouldn’t have a problem at all if some of their officials started getting tared and feathered.
This story should be closer to the top; more attention.
Rush, Levin, Beck, cover this!
Sarah, put it on your new show.
Where are his senators???
Stake in ground now, stop the EPA. I hope he doesn’t pay up and he is on his property...I want to see how the EPA with AKs try to drag him to jail. Lord, protect him, send us Godly leaders.
As much as I rail about single issue voters, abolishing the EPA would get my attention no matter who was making the promise.
NOTE: I fully understand that political promises often mean nothing.
I didn’t doubt the size - but I was amazed at the size of the pack! I always thought they were more around 6-8 in a pack. Both are impressive photos! (Yours?)
That MUST happen if we are to be shed of the heavy hand of these zealots.
Sprawling maybe in CT or MA but WY?
Not surprising. We were involved in the USSC case Rapanos v US.
The Nazi EPA thugs refused an order from the USSC to back off from prosecuting a Michigan landowner. The Nazis at EPA engaged in blatant unconstitutional actions against the landowner, including violations of the 4th amendment.
The kicker is that it happened under Bush Jr. with a Republican congress who refused to hold hearings. Hearings should have been held to indict the EPA Nazis for sedition and treason. The EPA Nazis should have been hanged.
We’re gonna need to do the proper constitutional law enforcement ourselves state by state, including hanging federal Nazi traitors.
The federal government has gotten to big when they think that they have the right to tell EVERY landowner in the country what they can or cannot do on their property.
A letter to your senators and representatives:
Dear _______________, it has become increasingly obvious that the president intends to use the power of the MANY governmental agencies to bypass the will of the people and Congress. For that reason, it is imperative for Congress to reclaim the power it has abdicated to the executive branch. I propose a simple amendment that be put in EVERY bill voted on by Congress until it passes. The wording is as similar to the following:
“No government agency, organization, or entity created by Congress in the past or future shall have legislative or judicial powers. For the purpose of this amendment, legislative power shall be construed to mean the making of any rule violation of which renders a citizen, legal entity, corporation, or company of any state or the United States to imprisonment, fine, excessive or punitive fee, or other punishment. Judicial power shall be construed to mean, the holding of any evidentiary hearing not presided over by an Article III court or the issuance of findings which result in imprisonment, fine, or punishment of a citizen, legal entity, corporation, or company of any state or the United States.
Under this law, all current rules implemented by any government agency, organization, or entity created by Congress that has legislative or judiciary powers as defined above will become null and void five years from the date of passage unless approved by normal constitutional means.”
Please consider this carefully.
Sincerely, _____________
In Texas we called them tanks and no, you did not want to go swimming.
I live in NY and very near a “wetland” I have to be VERY careful what I do—every day I live in fear for improving my property.
I also work for the county in IT. One of my “colleagues” is a early forty something birkenstock wearing tree hugger who does nothing but draw up aerial photography maps all day mostly for the purpose of gov’t land control. Her hubby is a tree hugger (little man with Napoleonic comples) that works for an offshoot of the EPA as a “senior forester” LOL(DEC). Both are as commie as the day is long. She actually expected me to fix her ancient home computers for FREE! Of course I requested fine bottles of wine ala hippy bartering! Oh and I also put the Drudgereport into their lists of favs (their home page was mother jones) BWA HA HA HA
I never fail to make a crack about glo-BULL warming when around Ms. Hippy.
I think this family should sell their home quickly to preferablly a minority family (black would be perfect) or a hippy lib. Then watch the EPA’s head explode.
Don’t worry - the EPA is gearing up to make woodstoves illegal, peasant.
When I saw your comment, at first I thought "who would want a stuffed EPA drone in their house". Then, upon reflecting further, I imagine it would be a great conversation starter.
I think you're finally getting it. You might consider that the "war on drugs" was used as a lever to get much of this stuff "legal" standing.
