I think one bottom line to this is that this officer needs to look for work elsewhere, likely out of state. In that state, some 250 LEOs have already signed an open letter saying that they will not enforce this law, as they believe it to be in violation of the US constitution.
The federal judge who decided this law was constitutional was judge Alfred V. Covello, appointed by H.W. Bush. It needs to be appealed to the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, which while a liberal bench, should be smart enough to realize that this bad law is causing a breakdown in the Connecticut system of law.
Already close the the point of issuing an injunction against the law until its appeal can be heard.
