It wont be your usual auction, when the military vehicle collection of the late Jacques Littlefield comes up for auction this summer. Littlefield, who died in 2009 at the age of 59, had an assortment of some 200 wheeled and tracked weapons of war at his ranch in Portola Valley, Calif.

I’ll take one of each. Do they take out of state checks?

Wow. That stuff is in great shape. That stuff is in great shape because an *army* of people *volunteered* to restore and maintain it. The guy provided a place where it could be done and supported the acquisition and resources needed.
It's a cryin' shame it couldn't be kept in NorCal. The climate is so mild we need only an overhead to keep the occasional rain off the exhibits. However the vibe in NorCal is very hostile to military history. Heck, San Francisco threw away the opportunity to host the Iowa! The fundraisers made no progress because state and city bureaucrats wasted no opportunity to disparage the idea. Same thing here.

I believe the Sherman in image 4 is an M1 Super Sherman used by the Israeli Army. The paint is close to Desert Tan(instead of Forest Green) which seems to be the standard color of U.S. vehicles since Desert Storm. I suspect the symbols on the turret are Israeli.
I visited there about 4 years ago. We saw one warehouse stuffed with armored vehicles. There are,I was told, seven.
