New Theory Sees Possible Fire on Missing Jet

A new theory claims that a fire broke out aboard Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 and the crew was doing what it could to save passengers and themselves

As the search for missing Malaysia Airlines flight 370 enters its twelfth day, conspiracy theories and suggestions of foul play are giving way to the idea that a fire broke out onboard and the crew were simply doing everything they could to save the passengers and themselves.

That theory, first floated by Chris Goodfellow, a pilot with 20 years of experience, holds that a fire on board the aircraft caused the pilots to set course for the nearest viable airport. Heading back to Kuala Lumpur would have meant traversing 8,000-foot ridges. A much more feasible option would have been the 13,000-foot runway at Pulau Langkawi, a destination which would correspond with the new route the aircraft appeared to have followed.

Once the course had been altered, the fire could have melted electronic wire bundles, causing cyanide gas to be pumped through the cockpit and cabin, rendering everyone unconscious (oxygen masks don’t help since cyanide gas can be absorbed through the skin), and leaving the aircraft heading along its path until it ran out of fuel.

[snip]

The fire scenario could also explain the loss of communication systems. Either the pilots started killing electrical busses in order to contain the fire, or an electrical fire caused the gradual collapse of various systems on board.

“Taking busses offline is a big process, and it may leave you without computer and navigational instruments,” says Rodger, who believes it is more likely that a fire took down the aircraft’s communication systems.

So many theories out there, so I will give mine. The plane and all it’s passengers were abducted by space aliens and transported to their versions of zoos.

I think the pre-programmed turn trumps all the other theories. It could be at the bottom of the Indian Ocean, but I am betting it is safely tucked away somewhere for future use.

Just plain nonsense.

The ACARS system was turned off before a normal voice sign off. There is no other reason other than tampering. Period.

Here is the only fact of this incident-

In 2014, you can board a modern airplane and disappear with a trace along with the plane and everyone else on it.

Have a nice flight!

The Goodfellow theory seemed plausible to me before Malaysian authorities changed the timeline to indicate that a change in flight path was programmed into the flight management computer and the plane did in fact change direction BEFORE the co-pilot said “all right, good night.”

Of course the authorities may simply be wrong on this.

But if the plane changed direction before the co-pilot spoke over the radio as if nothing was wrong, then foul play would have to be at the top of the analysis.

But while they figure out what to do, this media is sent out so people can forget.

So then how does a plane on fire make those complex maneuvers at those 3 waypoints in the Strait of Malacca and then subsequently fly for 6 more hours???

WHAT?

A fire takes out a wire bundle, shorting the ACARS system, transponders, etc.. The pilots could've been unaware of the fire until it had already compromised the wiring. Even if the transponder knob is in the 'on' position, it may have been disabled due to a fire.. And etc..

transported to their versions of zoos.

For food for their pets, food for them or just to laugh at us?

I think we are moving towards the fact that the plane has been stolen and is sitting on the ground in Pakistan or Iran. Likely the passengers have been killed.

Since about the 3rd day when the search began to look like a 3 stooges movie I have figured the plane landed somewhere, the powers that be know where it is and they are trying to figure out what to do about it.

Sonds like the US is trying to get Pakistan to fess up to allow them to save face wen all this comes out.

It would be very embarrassing for a country such as Pakistan to find out a 777 was capable of being flown and land in their country under radar and not know about it.

Remember the incident with the German kid who landed a Cessna in Red Square back in the 80’s?....................

Right, and the pilot puts it in the drink to put out the flames. In the meantime he shuts off the transponder so the emergency code 7700 wouldn’t be transmitted. Good piloting there Lou. Or 7500 hijack code. Probably shut it off just to be on the safe side.

I don’t believe EITHER pilot was involved in this aircraft’s disappearance. They were either acting under threat, OR a fire in the equipment room adjacent to the cockpit.
