Putin’s sanctions on Americans unite Democrats, GOP
Yahoo News ^ | March 20, 2014 | Oliver Knox

Vladimir Putin probably didn’t expect that newly announced Russian sanctions on nine Americans – three top White House aides, three Republicans and three Democrats in Congress – would spark a bipartisan love-in in Washington.

But that’s exactly what happened on Thursday as Moscow retaliated for expanded U.S. sanctions by freezing the assets of a select handful of high-profile Americans and banning them from travel inside Russia.

Here’s an early response from a spokesman for Republican House Speaker John Boehner on Twitter to Dan Pfeiffer, a senior adviser to President Obama, for making the list...

Its crazy how far we've fallen into the dystopian world of Kurt Vonnegut. Just today I watched 2081 (Harrison Begeron) and we're already trying to crush exceptionalism.

2081 (full movie 28 minutes)

Most, if not all of the US politicians the Russians levied sanctions against, I wouldn’t want coming to my house either.

Looks like the Russian commies are trying to help out fellow travelers and imbeciles in Congress.

4-9 on the list are definitely in the soviets interest to remain in office.

No worries, they only want to go to your bank.

Are you sure about that? Some of us are laughing hilariously.

Ya know, that may be an opportunity that the Russians will take to influence an election. All of these morons weaken America more while in office, so yes, you have a point.

But I'm not so sure the Russians would do this because the RUSSIANS are Communist, and I know they are not Soviet.

So I edited your post a little:

Why in hell would a member of our government have assets in Russia?

Because they don’t care where their money comes from.

When we impose real sanctions (not this stupid name calling crap) 10s of thousands of waivers are given by our state department. Most of those waivers are given at the urging of congressmen and senators and they don’t do it out of the goodness of their hearts.

Yup.

To paraphrase an oldie, but goodie Eagles song:

’ - - - - Living it up in the Hotel Crimea Hilton,
Such a lovely place, - - - - ,
Such a lovely place.

Living it up in the Hotel Crimea Hilton,
You can check out any time you want,
But you can never leave!’

I'm not sure either, but based on our experience so far with them, I'm more inclined to believe an old rumor.

Putin has had US by the short hairs, but we don't hear much about it in our one stream media for some reason.

Interesting, perhaps prophetic, times, huh?

I've never seen or heard of this movie or read Vonnegut's story. Very disturbing but it does resemble the path we are on.

The first thing that I noticed was how much Julie Hagerty's character reminded me of my ex-wife. She does not look much like my ex-wife, but her character is just a very naive, fearful woman, seeking to avoid anything that might upset her placid world. I also noticed how much the executioner looked like a former Governor of a State who's senile senior Senator once served for a long time in Vietnam.

Unfortunately, it goes right over the heads of most liberals that equality of opportunity rather than equality of results, leads to growth, learning and advancement. Equality of result leads to stagnation, the lowest common denominator, as demonstrated by the former Eastern block and products such as the Trabant. In this movie, it was TV that medicated; in the USSR it was vodka. In our society today, it is porn, smut and sex that is being pushed as the medication. A very sad situation.

It was a really sad story. The parents watched their son’s death on TV. Mom couldn’t be bothered by “unpleasant things” ad the father felt something but his handicap wouldn’t allow him to hold the thought.

Tammy Bruce played the Handicapper General.

Yep.

I'm sure that Putin has access and has reviewed all Soviet KGB and Russian Federation FSB files on Obama and all other Americans he has to deal with.

I'm also sure Putin will use any compromising material regarding Americans to the best advantage of Russian interests.

I'm also sure that so many Communists, Muslims and Mau Maus around Obama are not coincidence.

However, weakening America is a New World Order (Globalist) goal as much as it is a Communist or Muslim one.

In international finance, timing the sale of one's holdings is not a criminal act despite any agreements with others, and why would Russia be evil for doing this when George Soros is not, for doing the same repeatedly.

Notice how Progressive Socialist Affirmative Action lending policy is found sound and blameless if you believe the following: ...that the near economic collapse of the United States in 2008 was not due to widespread failures in government regulations, but a planned attack to destroy our nation perpetrated by both China and Russia.

I wonder who would want to misdirect blame toward Russia to CYA and keep Commie policy moving forward in the US? Additionally, the short sale would not have worked UNLESS the mortgage banks were already fatally overextended by their own hand. If they had loaned responsibly, Russia would just sell low and lose a whopping amount of money, that some responsible Western banker would pick up.

No, this "economic terror" is disinformation.
