What is it with Democrats attacking Republicans’ service to the nation?

There’s a disgusting pattern emerging of Democrats attacking Republican candidates’ records of service to the nation. Sen. Mark Pryor (D-AR) recently complained that Rep. Tom Cotton (R-AR), his general election opponent, has a “sense of entitlement” because of his military service.

“There’s a lot of people in the Senate that didn’t serve in the military,” Pryor, who never served and is the son of a politician, told NBC News. “I think it’s part of this sense of entitlement that he gives off is that almost as like ‘I served my country, therefore elect me to the Senate.’ That’s not how it works in Arkansas.”

But this sort of attack doesn’t end with Pryor, who is one of the most vulnerable Democrats up for reelection this year. A group supporting Sen. Mark Begich (D-AK) in his quest for reelection recently released an ad in which they attack Dan Sullivan for being born in Ohio and owning a home outside of Alaska.

Because the LEFT doesn’t value military service to the nation. And, by means of their routine tactic of conflation, they attach that denigration of military service to their belief that anyone with a conservative bent is troubled, likely mentally ill, and clearly against the Amerika they envision.

What! Democrat didn’t serve his country! Shame on him and shame on our president. That’s why our beloved country is going to hell in a hand basket.

It’s that whole “duty, honor, Country” thing that they can’t seem to handle.

They’ve got to, they’re desperate, and the time is right. Reverence for military service has largely been burned out of the young.

Don’t forget all those “public service” ads the Obama administration has been running on radio (and, I presume, on TV) that basically say “I served my country, and now I’m back home and I’m a basket case. I can’t take care of myself, and I need some government programs to survive.”

Also, I suspect this may be aimed at some specific individuals. Congressman (and someday Senator) Allen West comes to mind.

Well our trade to China was 122 billion last year.

Our trade FROM China was 440 billion. And the inbalance continues to grow.

America needs to build up America.

That means you Republicans. American businesses.

American.

I give Arkansas a pass but not the guy from Alaska. He should be living in Alaska except during the time the House is in session period. Sorry but it has gotten out of control all these congressman who hardly step foot in their home state. Too expensive to live in the state you represent or too long for the flight then don’t run for office. Plenty of others would love to take your spot. So sick and tired of this. I think everyone one of them should have to spend 90 percent of their time in their home state.

Has there ever been a Republican President that wasn’t in the military? I can’t think of any.

If anyone should not bring up “entitlement”, it should be Pryor and Merkowski....both of whom inherited their fathers’ Senate seats. Talk about underachievers calling attention to the fact that they haven’t done anything to deserve their lofty perch in the pecking order....

I forget the old dim rep who was a marine. A big mouth you know what. He was always the one they pointed too as their military hero, after Algore and Kerry of course. I think the old pig is dead now. But I have forgotten his name.

You are correct. Taft did have a military background though. " served as Secretary of War, 1 February 190430 June 1908; began American construction of the Panama Canal and served as conciliator in a threatened upheaval in Cuba; posed the possibility of probationary service for recruits before formal enlistment; directed an investigation into procurement procedures; approved the design of a new Medal of Honor; proposed disposal of small posts and concentration of the Army at brigade posts; was elected President of the United States and served from 1909 to 1913;"

So...you’re giving “Arkansas a pass” (I’m assuming you mean the DemocRAT Pryor) but exactly WHO (which candidate) are you attacking in Alaska?

John Murtha? During his last years he certainly bad-mouthed the military he used to serve in.

Conservative Candidates, please say something like this: I am fighting my opponent's feeling of entitlement to YOUR WALLET! Protect your Wallet, vote for me! Vote for Him/Her if you want to rob your neighbor and let your neighbor know that your are going to rob them by voting for my opponent.
