A top campaign advisor to Alison Lundergan Grimes, the Democratic challenger to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell in Kentucky, scoffed at the notion McConnell is "invincible" in a new memo set to be released Friday.... after The New York Times published a lengthy analysis of the unprecedented nature of a potential McConnell loss.
The memo delves into the details of why the Grimes campaign believes McConnell is more vulnerable than ever.
First, McConnell is devoting precious time and energy to a challenge from the right in Republican Matt Bevin, with the primary on May 20. Hurst also argues Grimes has grassroots and polling advantages. He points out that, for the last seven months, "our campaign has steadily polled ahead of or in a dead-heat with Mitch McConnell," including the recent Bluegrass Poll in February in which Grimes had a 4-point lead. He also emphasizes Grimes' 12-point advantage with women in that poll.
"Our multimillion-dollar war chest will allow us to go toe-to-toe with the McConnell campaign and tout Alisons message in every corner of the Commonwealth."
The other points in the memo focus on what Hurst described as Grimes' edge in grassroots organizing, while also touting her 20-point jobs plan for Kentucky. "Mitch McConnell has never been so unpopular nor has he run against a candidate as focused and disciplined as Alison Lundergan Grimes," Hurst writes in his conclusion. "McConnell has met his match and frankly, his replacement."
In a statement, McConnell campaign manager Jesse Benton said: "Alison Lundergan Grimes is a new face for the same tired old ideas of Barack Obama and the national liberals. Her anti-coal, big-spending, pro-union boss platform is severely out of touch with Kentucky while Mitch McConnell is championing the fresh, new ideas of liberty and free enterprise to move our Commonwealth forward.

If Bevin pulls a miracle and wins the primary - I guarantee that McConnell will NOT support Bevin. He will work behind the scenes to get Grimes in the seat while being mum about Bevin.
The Ruling Class Statists hate Conservatives more than they oppose Democrats. Just look at his comments about us from last week’s NYT.
If Bevin wins the primary - the national GOP will leave him twist on the vine by himself. My prediction.
.......and being seen campaigning with the head scum bag Bill Clinton isnt helping her cause either...............

It could be worse. She could be being seen with Barry Sotero.
Typical a$$hole RINO. Juan McPantsStain spent $20 a vote to defeat conservative challenger J. D. Hayworth in 10 — MONEY CONSERVATIVES GAVE HIM, GRUDGINGLY, TO DEFEAT THE SLIGHTLY WORSE OBAMA. He sat on it, threw the election, then when he’s running against a conservative, is suddenly NOT the moribund surrender monkey he was against Obama. All of a sudden, this was a feisty motivated candidate who not only know how to run, but actually cared if he did. And it STILL cost him $20 a vote even in an open-primary state. Oh yeah, and there was a move on to close the (R) primaries that cycle and he crushed it. A$$hole.
How does she know this?

They have these things called “Polls”. Numerous polls show her defeating McConnell but losing to Bevin. PLEASE SEE POST #16. Thanks.
The important question is- How does Grimes poll against Bevin?
Essentially, McConnell will run as a Democrat and lose. It's known as the Rove/Romney strategy.
Various polls have shown her defeating McConnell, but losing to Bevin. Here’s one that shows Bevin winning against Grimes. Don’t forget: He’s a newcomer to politics and is not as well known now as he will be come the Primary on May 20th. And he’s defeating an entrenched KY politician.

Cruz endorsed Mitch. That makes me want to cry.
We'll need that extra vote for cloture with a Republican President in 2017. Also, repealing Obamacare with fifty votes at that point will be no political picnic. Some Republican senators will want to compromise. The bigger the caucus the better, Rino women and all. That bunch wouldn't make Cruz or Lee majority leader anyway. What improvement would come from a McConnell loss? Meanwhile, where is Palin to boost Bevin?
Source, please.
Cruz has been careful to not endorse either an incumbent or a challenger in any GOP Senate primary races.
It is true that he has now endorsed John Cornyn -- but Cornyn won his primary going away and is the nominee. Of course, Cruz would endorse Cornyn.
But I very much doubt he has endorsed Mitch McConnell.
No he didn't.
Meanwhile, where is Palin to boost Bevin?

You tell me. I’ve been asking that same question: Why is she not endorsing Matt? She has endorsed Sasse in Nebraska, McDaniel in Mississippi and one or two others. Only thing I can think of is she thinks Matt is gonna lose. I dunno.
What improvement would come from a McConnell loss?

Did you read my Post Kennard? We would have the Majority and be able to elect a new Majority Leader with no one being the “heir apparent”. No, neither Ted Cruz nor Mike Lee will be the new SML. I don’t know who it will be, but it freakin’ will not be Mitch McConnell.
Polls are custom made by the poll taker.
It's sad really, the fatal amounts of Normalcy Bias that prohibit most to comprehend and understand that the velvet coup we have suffered has fundamentally transformed the whole enchilada. You cling to a memory that is now just an illusion.
Okay, seriously - how is this news? So if a Republican campaign plans to release a “memo” declaring a Democrat is endangered, will the news media run a story presenting it as completely factual, real news story? That’s all it takes?
This is a extraordinarily ridiculous news article.
Well...polling in the 30s is not beating anyone because the other candidate is polling lower in the 30s. He would also have to be able to define himself first, and he hasn’t had a great deal of fundraising success to be able to beat back a barrage of ads from the Democrats defining him first. Given the totally incompetent way he has run his campaign against McConnell, I would have no confidence in him being able to counter this and get out front of it. McConnell was definitely vulnerable in this primary, but I haven’t thought that now for a few months and Bevin is still running pitiful ads. Plus, there are other candidates on the ballot so the purely negative ads will simply split opposition while helping to build his negatives with the general public. Right now this is looking like a no-win situation. The only thing either McConnell or Bevin will have going for them is the fact that right now, it looks like the environment will be much more favorable for Republicans and their opponent will be a Democrat in a state inclined to elect Republicans over Democrats for Federal office.
McConnell is a symptom, not the problem. Are you willing to sacrifice a Senate seat for six years so that the Rino caucus can elect a new Rino leader?
Neither Palin nor Cruz will support Matt Bevin unless he's close, which he isn't.
We are reduced to an idle threat to stay home.
