All of which is a long way of saying that the global warming deniers have won. And please, can I have no emails from bed-wetting kidults blubbing that you can't call us "global warming deniers " because "denier" makes us sound like "Holocaust deniers", and that means you are comparing us to Nazis? The evidence for man-made global warming is as final as the evidence of Auschwitz. No other word will do.
Tempting though it is to blame cowardly politicians, the abuse comes too easily. The question remains: what turned them into cowards? Rightwing billionaires in the United States and the oil companies have spent fortunes on blocking action on climate change. A part of the answer may therefore be that conservative politicians in London, Washington and Canberra are doing their richest supporters' bidding. There's truth in the bribery hypothesis. In my own little world of journalism, I have seen rightwing hacks realise the financial potential of denial and turn from reasonable men and women into beetle-browed conspiracy theorists.

Global warming is dead in America due to the longest winter in recent memory. Let’s give God’s creation credit for that.

Yet again a writer pulls the thoroughly debunked claim that 97% of all scientists agree. As soon as I read that line anywhere in an article I know that the writer isn’t serious and is just spouting propaganda, for that’s all the 97% claim is, pure propaganda.
There should be a concerted effort to get a major news organization to honestly investigate that 97% claim and print or broadcast a thorough debunking. Then move on to the next organization, until it’s acknowledged by all but the propagandists that the claim is ridiculous.
Won’t happen, but in a world of honest journalism, it would.

I really havent seen any major companies take the anti global warming line. Can you think of 1 company that has publicly come out against it?
On the other hand how many billions have govts handed to the GW advocates?
We’re at 17 years of no warming now, and counting. If that continues for another, say, 8 years, we’ll have a quarter century where the people calling us traitors and, in some cases, calling for us to be imprisoned, or even put to death, for our opinions, will have been shown to be complete idiots. (I know, they already have been to most, but I figure a quarter century might complete the job.)
I don’t mind the idiots who just pontificate, but the ones who have called for punishments should be drummed out of their “profession” whether that be journalist or scientist (and I use those terms very loosely in their cases.)
Having read the sympathetic comments after the posted article, I now feel as if I’d stumbled into a group therapy session for the criminally insane.

The one thing we never hear from these global warming fanatics is what it will take to stop it. Turning our thermostats down and driving more efficient cars is not going to do it. Neither will windmills and solar. It will take the complete restructuring of our economy and forcing people to dramatically lower their lifestyles. At the same time food prices and everything else will rise dramatically.
Even if WE do it, the Chinese and Indians have said they will not so whatever we do is useless.
