Yeah, if the country worked the way it was designed to, a federation of States with DC limited to a handful of tasks, this would not be an issue...

Oh, did we miss the invasion of Venice?
Did the Venice media black out all opposition?
Did the ballot only have 2 yes options without a no?

Your shilling for Putin is nauseating.

Given that Venice is sinking roughly 14 inches per year, I should say that it was more likely that Venice could become another Atlantis.

It's very difficult to keep track of one's chips underwater, ne c'est pas?

I've heard of this, and it's going nowhere. The people of California always end up taking the Blue Pill...

Wow!! We will be in Venice in 4 weeks and 6 weeks....twice....hope there’s no RIOTING!! I HATE when gondolas CLASH!!

It is non-binding, so nothing will happen because of this. But it will start the ball rolling in a lot of places.

How is this massive super-majority in Venice any different?

Venice wasn't invaded by a foreign country with agents steering the outcome to a foregone conclusion. They also probably had a "no" option to check off on the ballot.

“My complaint was that they didn’t explain the sewage system. We decided that they didn’t have one. Smelly indeed.”’

The tour guide didn;t explain that either LOL

The official measurement is 3 centimeters a century.

Each (except for Scotland and Catalan) is a separate issue, not related to the other. Catalan is quite a distinct ethnicity, part of the "ethnicities" of Spain. It is distinct from the Castilian-Aragonese parts

Ditto Scotland

Venice looks like more of an economic thing -- I've not seen any real difference

Ah, good. Its sinking has slowed since our 1975 textbook was published. Of course, “official” statistics are not exactly the most trustworthy, now are they?

They were basically anticlerical Jacobins.

More moderate in their views than the originals, but they effectively imposed Italian nationalism on the country - it wasn't much of a grassroots movement.

Were the Italians better off under the Austrian yoke though? I’ve read much on Verdi (the composer) who was so intimately involved with the Risorgimento and the position of every day Italians doesn’t seem all that enviable up until then.
