The continued threat of economic boycotts targeting Israel hasn’t deterred China from forging ahead with a new freight rail link through Israel. The planned link could provide an alternative to the Suez Canal.

The project would connect the 300-plus kilometers between Eilat on the Red Sea and Ashdod Port on the Mediterranean. And it could be the chance for China to gain a foothold in the region. …

Gee, it’s almost as if Israel didn’t trust America. I wonder why?

Meanwhile, Obama continues to crap on Israel, once our only reliable ally in the Middle East; now we have NO allies in the Middle East, China is stepping in to take up the slack, and Obama’s pals, the Arabs, continue to spit in our national eye.

But, hey, if Obama’s a moron when it comes to foreign policy, at least he’s built up the US economy.

Oh, wait, he hasn’t done that, either.

Well, anyway, the Blacks, the Marxists, the homosexuals, the media, and Hollywood all love him.

Israel’s military technology sales to China have been blocked by the US. (AWACS, for example.) But once China is a more valuable ally than the US what is to stop those sales in the future?

I worked for Tadiran and I can testify that Israel’s military technology is in many ways superior to our own. First, they took our best stuff, reverse engineered it and fixed flaws (like the co-site problems ITT’s SINCGARS had) or enhanced it to be more effective. In addition Israel is without doubt the world’s leader in drone technology.

Every stupid action taken by Obama has had ripple effects we’ll be dealing with for the rest of the century and beyond.

The planned link could provide an alternative to the Suez Canal... would connect the 300-plus kilometers between Eilat on the Red Sea and Ashdod Port on the Mediterranean. And it could be the chance for China to gain a foothold in the region.
This has been a proposal for many years, going back to before the 1967 War. Nasser illegally closed the canal to Israeli shipping, and Egypt and Saudi Arabia closed off the Gulf of Aqaba, two things that provided a casus belli. The aftermath of the 1967 war was that the Suez Canal was closed to all shipping, thanks to ships deliberately sunk in the canal by the Egyptians.

The Israelis should use Chinese labor and contractors to do at least part of the job, and use zero Arab labor.

Thanks Olog-hai.
