WASHINGTON (AP) — People who’ve started applying for health insurance but aren’t able to finish before the March 31 enrollment deadline will get extra time, the Obama administration has announced.
“We are experiencing a surge in demand and are making sure that we will be ready to help consumers who may be in line by the deadline to complete enrollment, either online or over the phone,” Health and Human Services spokesman Aaron Albright said Tuesday.
The White House is scrambling to meet a goal of 6 million signed up through new online markets that offer subsidized private health insurance to people without access to coverage on the job. The HealthCare.gov website got more that 1 million visitors Monday, and the administration also wants to prevent a repeat of website problems that soured consumers last fall.
Officials said the grace period will be available to people on the honor system, meaning applicants will have to attest that special circumstances or complex cases prevented them from finishing by March 31.

As long as they are still alive, if and when they ever get to log in, and whether they will get a 100% subsidy, and whether they have a hair up their butt to actually sign their name to something, their application will be accepted.
Dates don’t matter, feelings and advertisements (if you’re willing to lie on camera) are the operative today. As long as the administration can delay the ball buster implications for 2014, 2016, 2018 and 2020 and so on, WHEN they actually have to ‘pay’ doesn’t matter. We have elections at stake here for cripe’s sake so the details don’t matter if the votes stay the same.

A goal of 6 million ? Interesting, given that their original bottom of the barrel projection for March 31 was 7 million.
Soon the media will be reporting that Obamacare reached 80% of its goal, which they will spin as great news, but is like a business achieving 80% of its break even sales.
The marketplace will be open always - so why the claims that you must be enrolled by March 31? I believe the original law (no telling how many times it has been changed) allowed for 3 months of not being covered during a year without penalty....
Or like flying 80% across the ocean...
On what authority do they extend the mandatory deadline?
And if they can extend it now, they can just keep on extending it -
ie, what is the criteria on which they’ll base their decision to not extend it further?
(We know it’s election cycles that are the underlying reason)
That should work. I have no doubt that there are dozens of people in this country who actually want ObamaCare, haven’t signed up for it yet, and will sign up as soon as they have a medical condition costing more than ObamaCare would cost.

It is high time to sign the petition to make Obama follow the constitution and require the Senate to pass the Bill that demands this. No more executive fiats by Obama. This nation has a constitution, and; Obama does not have the authority to change every law Congress passed and/or to pick and chose which law or laws he wishes to follow or the part or parts of a law he likes. This clown thinks he is smarter then all of us.
