OMG. He is ABC Nightly News Person of the Week. RIP
One of ADM Stockdales GREAT lines was, while 'debating Gore and Quayle when running with Perot
--'WHO AM I and - WHY AM I HERE?.
Of course the 'elitists' took it to mean he was Old, Senile and 'out of touch' BUT I, and my ilk, took it in the proper prospective.
Why am I standing here with these two idiots? Haven't I endured enough 'torture' in one lifetime?
Fair winds and following seas, RIP Admiral Denton.
I have that book, as well. Most inspiring.
I hope you’re speaking about John “I have a Gilligan hat I bought that was made in Vietnam” Kerry, right? Right???
Thank God for this hero!
When I was a kid living in Subic Bay back in 1969-71, we had these POW bracelets that corroded and turned green on our wrists, and one of the bracts I had was for either Stockdale or Denton, can’t remember which now.
Denton always reminded me of my dad, for some reason.
I lived at the Naval Communication Station in Cheltenham, MD about a mile from Andrews AFB in 1973 when the POWs came home. I wanted badly to go over and see them when they flew in, but we weren’t allowed to and had to watch it on television.
Denton was quite a man, as was Stockdale. They are probably hanging out up there together now.
I’m with you, xrmusn, I’m with you.
I never loathed liberalism quite so much as they day they ridiculed Stockdale.
One of my goals in life was to meet Stockdale and shake his hand...but never happened, rest his soul.
Now, Denton gone. The last threads of men of his generation are slowly being ripped away. They are fading. I have been so lucky to meet so many men of that generation.
That my FRiends, is COURAGE!
MaY God bless Jeremiah Denton with our gratitude for his sacrifices on behalf of our Country.
R.I.P.
Bump for a Real Vietnam War Hero.
