#8 – Glen Campbell: “Galveston”

Jimmy Webb was at the top of his form and had been riding the charts for two years. This was Glen Campbell’s interpretation of Webb’s song.

Glen Campbell: “Galveston”

Here is a bonus track. This is Webb’s own version of the song, and it’s quite different.

Good evening, Maestro!

I remember "Galveston" well. March 29, 1969 I was stationed at Field Med School, Camp Pendleton, Calif, immediately before my deployment to 'Nam.

America demands Justice for the Fallen of Benghazi!

O stranger, tell the Lacedaemonians that we lie here, obedient to their command.

Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name. (Isaiah 49:1 KJV)

The jack Lord show is still on cable tv every day.

I like to watch it because Hawaii has changed a lot, but some things are still the same. And i LOVE the old cars! LOL!

I never got around to watching that show. I was too busy studying in those long ago days of yore.

#7 – 1910 Fruitgum Co.: “Indian Giver”

This was what AM radio was becoming, a haven for teeny boppers, while their older brothers and sisters were listening to FM Progressive Rock.
