I don’t see the problem. They are just replacing a closed Bible with an open Bible.
I have a problem with their replacing a 5 color scheme with a 2 color scheme. It will be like some American school, whatever the colors.
Pray tell, what “trinity” is the university named after? Are they going to stick a rainbow and unicorn on the symbol instead?

Removing the bible from Trinity College is the same as taking the alcohol out of Irish whiskey.
Bizarre. But then again, the Anglican Church was founded by a fat, diseased old king who just got annoyed because the Church wouldn’t let him marry yet another wife in his attempt to produce a male heir...which he never did produce in any case.

Trinity College Dublin is to remove the bible from its crest ... The Bible image, closed with clasps, dates back to the college’s founding in 1592 as the College of the Holy and Undivided Trinity of Queen Elizabeth.
They will also change the color scheme on the ancient crest to avoid a clash with Ryanair’s corporate image.
