LOL, quite the sales pitch you got there.

Want to know the best part? There is nothing else to buy if you want insurance. In California, you either buy the plans offered with the required coverage or you buy nothing.

Also, if you apply through the 'Covered California' Website and your income is reported under $15,500 you are automatically forced off of any available plans and forced to take Medicaid (in California, Medi-Cal).

It doesn’t matter how many people sign up for 0-care in CA. The provider pool will be very narrow, and it will get worse once providers discover that a high percentage who have signed up aren’t really covered because they have stopped paying their premiums.
Moreover, it’s likely that many people will stop paying premiums when they get sick and need the coverage. That’s because of a loss of income as a result of missed work during an illness, and the large deductible required up front for 0-care patients if they seek care from hospitals and clinics that intend to stay in business.
Heavily subsidized 0-care patients might pay their nominal premiums but won’t be able to pay the big deductibles. Un-subsidized 0-care patients will have problems with premiums and deductibles (unless wealthy). Getting on to Medicaid for either group as a result of loss of income will likely not be fast enough to deal with a rapidly progressive disease. It would seem likely that these people will have a greater mortality from diseases such as cancer, coronary disease, and infectious disease that require rapid diagnosis and treatment for favorable outcomes.
The only place that will accept these lapsed coverage 0-care patients will be ERs. Let’s see how this works out in a couple of month when patients actually try to access care.

Just how bad is it?

* Anthem Blue Cross has terminated all individual PPO plans and only offers "EPO" coverage. This forces a geographic limitation on all policies and no coverage out of network.

* New payment restrictions have pushed Cedars Sinai hospital (major hub) to terminate their contract with Blue Shield of California.

* Kaiser HMO plans offer similar coverage, but are reducing the number of surgeries per day by their surgeons and increasing the patient load per doctor. Average wait time for a knee or hip replacement is between 6 to 10 weeks. The devices used for hip and knee replacement have been changed to older and less expensive devices due to the reduced pay.

* Effective dates are only and always on the first of the month. Now, you many only apply for coverage by the 15th of the month to get the first of any month, otherwise the applicant waits up to 45 days to get coverage.

* Most of the companies are already asking for significant rate increases

* Wait times to talk to anyone at Covered California are from 30 minutes to 2 hours. Most of my clients are coming to me as they cannot get through to talk to anyone after having issues with the website.

The best possible solution is to be self insured-—which, of course, is not always possible.

It’s only purpose is to register and fake vote more democrats. Based on that, it will work until they find out the benefits are fake.
