One of Russian President Vladimir Putin's closest ex-advisers has claimed that the ex-KGB agent ultimately wants to reclaim Finland for Russia.
Andrej Illiaronov, Putin's economic adviser between 2000 and 2005 and now senior member of the Cato Institute think tank, said that "parts of Georgia, Ukraine, Belarus, the Baltic States and Finland are states where Putin claims to have ownership."
"Putin's view is that he protects what belongs to him and his predecessors," he said.
When asked if Putin wishes to return to the Russia of the last tsar, Nicholas II, Illiaronov said: "Yes, if it becomes possible."
Illiaronov admits that Finland is not Putin's primary concern at present but, if not stopped in other areas of Eastern Europe, the issue will one day arise. Russian troops are currently massing on the eastern border of Ukraine, following Russia's recent annexation of Crimea.
"Putin said several times that the Bolsheviks and Communists made big mistakes. He could well say that the Bolsheviks in 1917 committed treason against Russian national interests by providing Finland's independence," Illiaronov told a Swedish news website....

and Finnish vodka.
There is nothing made up about it at all. Russia has always envied the warm water seaports of neighboring states, and Russian rulers have traditionally claimed Finland as a subject peopole and territory of Russia. Stalin tried and failed to recapture Finland, and Putin is enamored of Stalin to the extent Putin wants to succeed where Stalin failed.
the little engine that could
Thank you for the history lesson, sir, I had no idea.
Finland is pro-Russia so Russia has no real need to take it over. The relations between the two countries are quite close.
So far I’ve read that Russia is not only going to invade all of the Ukraine, but the Baltic States, East Moldova, Poland, Alaska, and now All of Finland.
Yet none of these people saying this can even remotely contrive a story as to how all of this will magically happen.
Next week I fully expect the Russians to be marching into South Africa, because you know it CAN happen.
The drop dead gorgeous is just the temporary phase.
They all turn into Helga eventually.
Like monkeys CAN fly out of my butt.
Ex-advisor = political enemy.
Like soliciting advice about Bob from Bob’s ex-wife.
No, it’s not South Africa, yet, but it is Nicaragua. Putin’s Russian regime is negotiating with some of the Latin American nations for basing rights in Nicaragua and elsewhere in Latin America. Putin is working towards placing air and naval bases within close operating range of the Continental united States.
All of the places you mentioned, except Alaska, have actually been invaded and annexed by Russia and/or the Soviet Union in the last 75 years. Certain Bolshevists in the Soviet Union and Russia have made inflammatory claims to the territories of Alaska in the past twenty years. So, Putin’s ambitions to outperform Stalin’s conquests are no less unrealistic to Putin than the achievements of his predecessors.
Winston Churchill did. In 1941, Britain declared war on Finland, and the Anglo-Finnish war was one of the few that were fought between parliamentary democracies. But except for a few minor British air raids, little fighting between Britain and Finland occurred.
Ex-wives often do know things about Bob, especially when they compare notes down at the hair and nail salon.
Well, if you make the threat big enough people just HAVE to give up some piddling freedoms and rights (and money) to stop it...
“But more often embellish the truth to further their own agendas”
And Bob had ex-wives (plural) because he didn’t embellish the truth?
He wants their vodka!
My thoughts also
(some Finn ancestry here, my grandmother came over on the boat although I never learned much about it)
It’s all in the Book. Being revealed today using NASA research as the base. Toward the end of the video it shows Russia’s part in end times.

No, if I were Mr. Putin I would not be overly eager to encounter the Finnish people in the field. They enjoy it too much.
