North Carolina probes possible double voting

Republican legislators in North Carolina are calling new information suggesting hundreds of instances of voter fraud “shocking” and “outrageous” and are pushing for a criminal investigation.

Election officials told lawmakers on Wednesday that a system that checks state voter rolls against one another found 765 cases of voters with the same first and last names, birth dates and last four Social Security number digits voting in multiple states in the 2012 election, according to the Raleigh News & Observer.

More than 35,000 cases of voters with the same names and birth dates voting in multiple states in 2012 were also identified, although others caution more investigation is necessary to determine whether coincidence, poll worker error or other explanations are behind the duplicate entries.

The only reason they claim it is a minor problem is because all of the fraud is on their side. If WE started to cheat they would throw a fit. Of course, if we did we’d be getting jail time; w/o early release.

But hey, it’s only 35,000 extra votes for the dims; hardly enough to throw an election, right?

It is only fraud if the vote is for a republican.

Yeah, right. Didn’t Stuart Smalley of Minnesota “win” by a hundred or so “votes?”

Here’s what will happen.

The state guy with the list will send it onto each county. Each county clerk will have the responsibility to take the next step, and send a letter out to their ‘target’ and ask them to present themselves at the county office. Most will decline. A county prosecutor will then get involved.

Unless you bribe up the prosecutor....he’s dragging you to a grand jury. Ten simple questions will be asked in front of the grand jury, and unless something is presented to stop such action....you are going to a court situation.

The typical punishment angle varies state to state. One to five years in prison is usually recommended....but they suspend most of that sentence (doesn’t make sense to put you into county jail or state prison anyway)....but that fine of five to ten thousand...that won’t be waived.

So, by the time you mess with your lawyer and the fine...there fifteen to twenty thousand spent. I should note this....that NC guy with the list? He’s sending a copy to the other states affected, and they know your name. So they got you for double-voting, and they will send you a request for information, and potentially draw you into a court appearance in their state. Another fifteen to twenty thousand spent? Possibly.

The biggest punishment out of this mess? Your name gets published in the paper locally, and friends/neighbors start to ask you stupid questions if you know how to vote, or are you really that stupid. The peer pressure alone....is a big mess to deal with. Nobody is going to believe the statement that someone else in the system...screwed up. You basically lost your trust in the local community and look awful stupid.

Not for long. About 15 years back a company on the west coast developed software that would comb the welfare rolls and other databases and look for suspicious recipients of welfare benefits. The trials went well in many counties and states and quite a few recipients were identified. Politicians took one look at the results and said, "Look at all the minorities listed here! Can't do it! Nope, not gonna touch this one with a 10 foot pole." The program withered because of this fear.

It’s my informed opinion that voter/election fraud has been ramped up exponentially since Obama came to power. It’s how the very unlikely event of 4 states repudiating true marriage in 2012 “happened,” among other ridiculous results.

logic101.net:" But hey, it’s only 35,000 extra votes for the dims; hardly enough to throw an election, right?

And that is in only one State !
Imagine what could be accomplished if a similar honest inquiry occurred across the Nation ?

GOP would be wise to keep pursuing this - Democrats have grown more desperate since Reagan, 1994 losses, 2010 losses - I’m pretty sure they cheated their asses off. This would also explain why they went so illegally ballistic on that lady from Texas who started that “true the vote” organization. They also have been going nuts fighting any voter ID law that comes up - like their political lives depend on it.

We have lived and voted in four states in the last 10 years and only one state noted our duplicate registration cleaning out their voter roles. We did play by the rules and only vote in our current residence, but you have to wonder if someone else voted our registration.

If corruption is occurring in the ballot booth I will give you one guess when party is sponsoring, endorsing, and participating in it. THAT WOULD BE THE PARTY THAT CLAIMS A REQUIRMENT TO SHOW ID TO VOTE IS “RACIST”.

2000 was when I first saw it go epic. When you have precincts going 99-100% for one candidate with high turnout, it’s a sign. Statistically, it’s impossible.

They close the polls and start voting for everyone who didn’t vote. That’s how they end up voting for dead people and people who moved away.

Democorrupts like to argue that 23 fraudulent voting cases won’t swing an election, but they fail to recognize that these cases are a SAMPLE of a much larger population.
