God's on your side.

It's not about how much you love Him but how much He loves you.

He loved us while we were yet sinners and haters of God. God's love for us is demonstrated that Jesus was reconciling us to God and redeeming us on the cross at the exact time we were hating Him and nailing Him to the cross.

We love Him becasue He first loved us.

He has redeemed us from the law so it's no longer about how much we love God, but about how much He loves us. When we receive His love, sooner or later we can't help but love Him back. We are no longer the old, flawed covenant that demands, "YOU will". We are under the new covenant where God says, "I will" no longer remember your sins and iniquities becasue of Jesus' perfect sacrifice. It's not what we DO . It's what Jesus DID.

"God so loves the world..." (John 3:16).

I do not believe for one second that Putin is a believer. His embrace of Christian values is purely political.

So was the Emperor Constantine's embrace of Christianity. History can turn on very small pivots.

We. Not just you. All of us. He’s gone from our, that is to say the entire country’s, public life.

You didn’t put Him back, did you? Or did I miss that part?

The Almighty isn’t on any side. The question is, who is on God’s side?

Not America. Some Americans certainly, but not this country. We have become Sodom and are in need of a new Great Awakening!

Putin knows you've been waiting for someone to defend Christians. As Buchanan points out, he's tapping into a powerful force.

Russian oligarchs and others with tens of billions generally live on island redoubts. Whatever Putin might have in his bank accounts, he doesn't LIVE like somebody with 75B to spend, he's sticking it out with Russia and the Russian people. Or maybe it TAKES 75B to convince Soros and the Rothschildes that there would be a personal price to any sort of a crude effort to take him out or down, who knows...

In the case of Syria, Christianity and Christians would have no home in Syria were the people WE are supporting to take the place over. Syria is a big part of the original home of Christianity and Putin basically saved the situation.

The only question mark in the picture is Iran which may involve business which Russians figure they have to have to survive or at least did at one point, I don't really know. Russians were literally starving in 1999, and I doubt anybody was asking too many questions about whatever it took to bring that situation to an end.

As to Buchanan and Poles and how WW-II got started, Buchanan is right. The Poles had actually invaded all but one or two of their immediate neighbors in the 20s and 30s and thought they were going to make short work of Hitler and Germany and were basically living in a dream world.

You're free to believe what you want. I'm going to take him at his word. He is the ONLY world leader today giving any sort of Christian testimont at all. He is the only world leader standing againstthe moral rot that eating the soul of the West...the US included.

I don’t think Buchanan is saying that. I think he’s saying Putin has figured out that there’s a powerful global group with no representation in any government.

Agree. It is the false prophet approach to lure in the vulnerable. He is as evil as the rest of the Soviet dictators have been.

I am working on it, I preach it and I practice it and I try to convince others there is a right and a wrong and theft, adultery, selfishness, is wrong and self sacrifice for one’s family is right. What are you doing?

What is it with Buchanan? I know he's tends towards isolationism and that seems to skew his thinking about world events in general and Putin now. He seems to look for justification for the U.S. to pull back and withdraw to its own borders. But the U.S. (other than the Bush debacle) is not an aggressive nation. We don't look to conquer other sovereign nations. We're about PROTECTING free & sovereign nations from the aggressions of tyrants like Putin.

Part of the flawed thinking in Buchanan and others is the idea that God is mad at America. God isn't mad at anyone. God took out all His rage, anger, condemnation, and judgement on the whole world on the body of Jesus 2000 years ago. God loves the world (John 3:16) and is now in the business of reconciling the world to himself not imputing their their sins against them (2 Cor 5:19).
