I uninstalled Firefox this morning and sent them a message telling them why.
Felt good.
I thought it must be satire too - kept waiting for the punch line but it never came. It is satire right? Sure as hell hope so.
The last line gives the rest of the article its context.
There can be no peaceful separation. They will come for us.
So what is the next step?
The article is clearly satire, its pointing the figure at those who gleefully joined the public lynching of Eich when it became “cool” to do so.
Notice the last line of his article.....”We’d better get cracking on tge rest of the list. Otherwise, perhaps we should put the pitchforks down.”
Basically he is sympathetic but is calling off the witch hunt, saying if youre not going to go after thousands of others for giving money, then you need to stop condemning people who supported Prop 8 entirely.
Why should I not interpret this as "Go big or go home"?
I've been through the article twice and find nothing resembling satire.
When John Semmens writes satire, I can find it. I can't find it here.
well, this goes along with them being mentally ill narcissists. Who demand the world adore them and show them preference and deferrence or they turn into Whatever Happened to Baby Janes.
Thats just my impression.
Eradicating homosexual practices is self-defense for society — even if just as a health issue.
Sorry. Don't buy it.
I think that purging 35,000 people would give this guy a thrill.
I am going to start taking the laughing boys seriously as a clear and present danger.
Because there is no way that they would attempt to go after all those people, it would cost them a lot of public support for that witchhunt.
The ridiculousness of the lists should have given it away, that ending line definitely gave away. Basically the article is discouraging the bulkying of people in their jobs. That is why those on the left seem less than pleased with Saletan, he is exposong the ridiculousness of the situation, like “are you seriously going to try and go after anyone who ever had an anti-gay thought in anytime.
Even supporters such as Andrew Sullivan have criticized the actions agaonst Eich, the allies of the pro gay groups are basically telling them to reel it in or lose support from the public.
If theres one thing people hate it is a bully, if the gay movement is widely caricatured as bullies, it will make their agenda far more difficult to proceed with.
Well, serious or satire, if this idea is actually implemented, there will suddenly be a lot of start-ups created by folks who understand what marriage actually is (and thus likely have sensible views on social issues in general), to compete with the now-short-staffed politically correct companies.
These guys are mentally ill.
They actually think there is enough public support for their position that they can get away with this.
Expect them to act accordingly.
Remember this?
They're out for blood.
And they never will. Just need Conservatives to come out opposing them. But sadly most are just ..... -——
Perhaps the best thing to do is deport them to places like Iran, Iraq, or Saudi Arabia. They’ll welcome the deviants with open arms.
What makes you think it is satire? If the queers do what he's proposing, I'll not be surprised.
“... worth a thousand words.”
