By a quirk of fate, we may be in for some pretty turbulent Senate elections, not only this November but in 2016 and 2018 as well. Majority status could resemble a rubber band as much as anything else. It is entirely plausible that the Senate will tip back into GOP hands in 2014, return to Democrats in 2016, and then flip again to Republicans in 2018. It’s all about how many—and which—seats on each side are up and exposed to losses, not to mention whether it is a presidential or midterm election. Obviously other factors could come into play, chiefly the political environment over the next four years, but also what the presidential tickets will look like in 2016, who will be in the White House come 2018, and how that person is doing.

Exactly, the GOP is likely to win the Senate in 2016, so this guy wants to claim it is not a repudiation of leftist ideas but rather a matter of which seats are up.

This is SOP. When the GOP wins it is razor thin and not a mandate. When a Dim wins even by a single vote, it is a mandate and will last forever.

Patriots have already missed opportunities in 2010 and 2012 to build 2/3 conservative supermajorities, both Democratic and Republican, in both Houses of Congress. If conservatives had supermajority control in both Houses then Congress would be positioned as follows.

Congress would have the power, under the Constitution's Clause 2 of Section 7 of Article I, to override presidential vetoes. In other words, Congress would be able to repeal constitutionally indefensible Obamacare Democratcare without Obama's signature.

Note that Congress has exercised its power to override presidential vetoes as recently as Bushes 41 & 43, and also with Clinton.

So let's hope patriots and former Obama supporters wise up and organize to win conservative supermajorities in both Houses of Congress in the 2014 elections. And if not in 2014 then by 2016.

When the demodummies keep pushing odumbocare and the repubs keep the heat on about all the scandals odumbo has his hands in, there should be no problem with the Repubs keeping control of both the senate and the house. That is, unless the elections are rigged AGAIN.
